How does the confrontation go?
Frantic
It started quick and smooth, as much as Marius had imagined. He took great care to be silent and slow to not trigger the beast, making his movements sound like natural sounds of the wild. When he was in the nest, he raised his sword high and went for a stab. His blade sliced through the creature’s hide and aroused it for its slumber in a panic.
Sadly, Marius had missed the mark of a fatal strike. And further misfortune befall the Rune Blade as the panic attack of the griffin caused him to lose his footing and wound up falling from the nest to the forest floor below.
The Rune Blade only allowed himself to be dazed for a moment before he rolled onto his feet. He did so just in time to see the griffin moving to swoop at him. He tried to get out of the way which resulted in the griffin to desperately pounce on the ground next to him, the shockwave of the impact on the ground sent the man rolling.
This was going to be just as rough as he thought. But if he could keep to his plan, he could win this. He has to win this, a whole village is at stake here. And he was right in track to do so as he began hunting for one of the runes he laid out.
As he tried hunting for his runes, the griffin did not let up its frenzied attacks. He had to keep his eyes in the beast as he tried to search. Some he couldn’t even dodge and tried to deflect with his sword. When he couldn’t catch the claws, he would get pummeled, which didn’t feel too god. Luckily the enchantments prevented gracious injuries, but he would be very bruised by the end of this.
After a bit of time, he finally found one of his runes and began guiding the griffin towards it.
Does the griffin trigger the rune?
