Forget the mission; what is Sabina’s picture doing on the cover?

Before Alex can even look at the name of the mission, his eyes become transfixed on the black and white photo paperclipped to the cover. It is his girlfriend, Sabina.

“What are you doing with Sabina’s picture?” he asks, retrieving it from the desk. “And what does she have to do with any of this?”

Blunt and Jones exchange looks.

“Alex, I want you to brace yourself for this, but I have some disturbing news about Sabina. She’s not who you think she is,” said Mrs. Jones.

“Not who I think she is?” said Alex. “Bullshit! She’s been my girlfriend ever since we met on my first mission! I trust her completely.” Alex knew whatever sick plan Blunt had devised, it was all designed to mess with Alex’s head.

“She May be your girlfriend, Alex, but what you don’t know about her is that she has been using you — and MI6; she is actually a SCORPIA operative,” said Blunt.

Alex glares at the man with disbelief and hostility.
