Forget it
Jason laughs at how ridiculous the whole idea of mind control seems.
He never seriously considers the idea that the device might be real deciding that it must be some kind of joke. He finds a new, sturdier box for the tapes and sets the note and the leather headband to one side and didn't give it much more thought.
