Chapter 6 by TheProletariat TheProletariat

Will you follow her into the forest?

Follow into the forest.

You trail behind her, at each step her bare feet spring off of the grass as if stepping on great piles of wool. Her curls dance in the moonlight as she leads you to a small grove. The trees here have fallen and created a canopy which gives the privacy of a shelter.

She looks at you with kind wide eyes, then reaches for your hand, but stops herself.

"You must hate all humans." She says ending with a long pause.

...

"I have heard the stories of the battles, they call you savages..." Another bout of silence.

...

"Sorry."

She shuffles in place nervously.

"When I was younger I became friends with one of the maid's daughter. We would roam the forests together, but she was sold off when it was found that I had befriended her. My people are misguided, but I am not. I see the meaninglessness of this conflict. But they do not care for the voice of a woman either..."

Quietly she takes a seat on the tree trunk, dusting the seat prior, and fixing her dress as she sat.

She politely inquires, "Can we be friends?"

"Can we be friends?"
