Fix It Yourself

You can do it! It's not that hard. It's probably just a faulty shower head again, and after last time, you were smart enough to buy a backup. It's in the garage, along with your tool chest.
You get to work gathering your supplies, and soon you're tinkering away. Sure enough, the fancy shower head, with its detachable nozzle, had been poorly made. It's leaking from several places, and the pulse pressure is next to nothing. You chuckle to yourself. "No Mr. Shower Head for her to play with this morning." The shower in the downstairs bathroom only has a fixed nozzle.
Your confidence evaporates quickly, however, when it comes time to actually remove and replace the shower head. To make a long story short, you fix the shower head in about 30 minutes, but the sink... let's just say the problem is a lot more complicated there, and you may have overestimated your ability to fix it on your own. You end up soaked in water, and it takes you over an hour and a half to fix the problem and clean up all the water. Jenna appears at one point in the doorway to remind you that this is why plumbers exist. She's had time to run to the grocery store and back already, and it's all put away, with no help from you.

As you are cinching down a pipe for the last time, you hear the twin sounds of car horns from the driveway. God damn it. They're here a bit earlier than expected: it's still only 11:30, and you're going to have to change out of your wet clothes before you can go down to greet them.
