Fix 'her' nails

Absentmindedly, Andrew inspected his extended oval-shaped fingernails, finding that the polish had become chipped.

Andrew couldn’t place why, but this irked him, and he could not get the niggling sensation to do something about it out of his head.

“[sigh] Fuck it!”, Andrew announced as he paused the TV and made his way up to Charlene’s bedroom and her vanity, on which was a whole range of various nail varnish colours.

Finding some acetone-free polish remover and cotton wool pads, Andrew carefully removed the pink coating on his nails, revealing the acrylic bedrock underneath still intact.

Remembering what his mother had done in the past from painting her nails in front of him, Andrew first applied a layer of clear polish as a base to protect the nail, and after letting it dry applied a thin layer of dark red upon each nail, building upon the coat each time it dried till they were all polished in full.

“Hm, not bad, not bad at all”, Andrew congratulated himself as he surveyed his near-perfect nails.

Andrew returned to the sofa and continued to watch TV, texting with Brian as Andrea about the night’s plan.

A short while later, Andrew received a call, the ID revealing the caller as Kristi.
