First, I remember the Witch Hunt's archives (shop)

Before we travel back to 1986, let's remember a more innocent time, during my studies with Professor Ootsuki over 10 years later... my "present" to which I would never return again.

The Witch Hunt is an international association of archivists who collect and study works and artifacts related to witches. The Rokkenjima incident is easily the most important of these endeavors, providing an endless wellspring of intrigue for all who study the subject. As I believe I mentioned earlier, to this day, the murders of October 4th and 5th, 1986, remain unsolved. Ootsuki is one of the lead researchers in Japan and his archive is a wonder to behold. It's full not only of texts- some believed real, others clearly counterfeit- that spur the imagination and served as guidelines for my own writings. While they couldn't possibly explain the full scope of the island's mystery, nor its fantasy, they offered myriad possibilities.

Just as interesting as his collection of texts is his collection of artifacts. If I could just remember back to them... some of them might even aid me on my journey through my own story. It may sound strange, that I'd need to recollect details of my own story, but remember: I've walked this realm for longer than I wrote it. Hell, the contents of my brain have been spilled a time or two. It's only natural that I'd have some memory loss. Are you worried about it? I'm not.

"Mister Player? Daydreaming about witches again, are you?"

My professor's voice snapped me out of it. At this time, he really was my professor... later on, he would be my mentor and colleague, but as a college drop-out, I couldn't continue claiming that connection to him. In the later days, I could see him pitying me. No, it wasn't just pity... he felt guilt. He thought maybe he'd been wrong to introduce me to this life-consuming search.

What he should have felt was jealousy. I'd far surpassed his devotion as a Witch Hunter. I'd been so devoted that a witch sought me out herself, in the end.

I told Ootsuki not to worry about me. I just had a certain relic on my mind.

The gentlemanly scholar laughed, then dabbed at his forehead with a white kerchief. It was hot inside the storage room. "Is that so? Would you like to inspect anything more closely? You know I never tire of sharing these stories," he chuckled.

Yes, well... This isn't simply a matter of having the time and interest to ask. I am keenly aware that I'm visiting a memory, a blurry one. I feel a sort of a fog surrounding me, as though the witch intends to see her reader killed even here. Perhaps these dusty old tomes and relics are too boring for her. Regardless, I need something from this place. I'll have to use my Pink Trigger's power to focus.
