Where to next?

Finish your business in town before going to see Maven

First things first, you plan on settling things with Anne. She looks at you as you walk into the small room you rented for her at the inn. "Hey, sorry I couldn't help you find that bitch. Did the meeting help?" she asks in the subdued tone she has adopted since you first got to know her. "It was good, great even. I know where she is, or at least was recently." She smiles sweetly at you. "That's good." You feel nervous, and an awkward silence breaks out as you gather your courage. "Even more than that, I was thinking...would you want to work for him? Andreas?" She looks up at you questioningly, waiting for you to continue. "He needs someone accustomed to less-than-legal work. I know you wanted to get away from that sort of thing, but all he wants is an intermediary, messenger, whatever you want to call it. A lot safer than banditry, and I know he'll accept you. What do you think?" She looks away, deep in thought. "I guess it's a lot better than the gallows. Alright, I'll go. Just, before we part ways, could we make love one last time?" You feel horrible about abandoning her here, but you don't have a lot of options, and she's dead weight on your mission. You decide to grant her wish. You kiss Anne, the unexpected lover you have grown feelings for, and the two of you spend your last time together. She weeps softly as you make love, and once you see a tear fall on her face from above you realize that you're crying too. You lock each other in your arms as you spill your seed in her. It's a long time before either of you stir, laying there with your faces buried in one another's shoulders. "If I have a baby, can you give me something? Something from its father, that I can hand down?" You look around, then you remember your signet ring. You fold her hands over the gift and kiss her again. A few hours later you hand her off to a grateful Andreas, and walk back to your inn in a fit of depression.

You don't really feel like company right now, but you have to get things sorted here before moving on. You get directions to the Hebrew Quarter and head there alone. Tall wooden walls surround the area, completely cut off from the city surrounding it. You find the gate and see a pair of well-armed guards, drawn from local stock. "Halt!" one of them commands. "State your business with the money-lenders, or git goin'!" he says. "I'm here to see an acquaintance, Rose of Sharon. She said that I'd be let in." The guard scratches his head for a second, then something in his dim brain seems to make a connection. "Oh yeah, I remember ol' Rose o' Somethin'. Yup, said a feller who looks like you would be comin' round. Ok, go in." He opens the massive wooden gate and you walk inside. Despite the large area and enormous walls, the quarter is rather cramped, filled to the brim with a variety of buildings in various states of repair and Hebrews hustling in the narrows streets and alleys. You start asking the locals about Rose, and after a few tries you find one who speaks good Almain. The hunched little man directs you, and you find the building soon. You knock on the door, which is opened by a widely smiling Rose.

What does she say?
