You feel sad as you walk through the small park you've escaped into. You can barely feel the life of this small group of trees and you can only imagine how difficult it will be to find somewhere with real life in the city. Allegra seems like she's on the trail of something however so you follow her. After a short walk you find yourself at what you somehow know to be the oldest tree in the park, although it's still fairly young. Allegra places a hand on its' trunk and seems to go into a trance, with no other ideas you follow her lead and place a hand on it.
Suddenly your awareness expands to beneath the ground you are standing on, tracing the roots of the tree and then other plant life. This sensation spreads and you can feel nature itself spread throughout the city in a sickly state, until a presence calls to you. You focus on it and your awareness narrows until you find yourself drawn to what you assume must be the city's largest park, what little of a bastion nature holds here.
"There's something there that will help us, I'm sure of it." Allegra says as both of you let go of the tree. "We just need to find a way to get there."
Before you can think of a solution you hear a loud bang from behind you, the two of you whirl in the direction of the haunted house to see a plume of smoke rising. You can just make out the part of the house you had escaped from burning and your heart aches. If the flower that had ushered you into this new life wasn't already burnt to crisp it likely will soon. A part of you wants to turn back and try to do something to help but you know you'd only be putting yourself at risk.
"If we don't move fast someone is going to find us." Allegra says and you realize with panic that she's right. You have to think of some way to move across a huge portion of the city without being seen, even if the two of you were clothed it is unlikely you'd avoid someone noticing you and who knows what would happen if you were discovered. But the harder you think the more you realize there's no way out, building your panic further. It all starts to reach a fever pitch, and then the ground beneath you begins to rumble.
