Intermission 9: Affection Multiplier Safety Measures.

The Affection Multiplier is a powerful tool that amplifies the rate at which people grow fond of the user and gives the different types of affection a numerical value for the user to better interpret. Not only that, but wise use of this tool can lead to even greater rewards, unlocking its true potential.

The Affection Multiplier is given to people who are experiencing the lowest point in their lives. The Universe decides to give it to someone following a plethora of different factors, some of which include but are not limited to: Current likelihood of suicide, potential future, past deeds, amount of close loved ones, strength of current bonds, likelihood of overcoming the odds with other people’s help and so on.

Being such a powerful tool, several safety measures, hidden from the user, have been put in place in order to prevent reckless users from upsetting the karmic balance. These safety measures are the following:

1) User exemption: Users of the Affection Multiplier cannot influence other users.

2) Hidden features: Only wise, careful use of the Affection Multiplier will unlock its stronger features, such as the reward system.

3) Diminishing returns: Affection and Love scores only improve three times faster after the 40-points marks and only two times faster after the 80-points mark.

4) Truth detector: The Affection Multiplier automatically detects the user’s fake responses, intentions and made-up personalities. After the 50-point mark, if the user is not being completely honest, scores will not improve.

5) Reverse Multiplier: The user of the Affection Multiplier is also affected by its power, to a lesser degree. Their fondness of the people they attempt to get close to grows at double speed instead of the usual five times with no diminishing returns. However, just like with everyone else, if the user's feelings are shallow, they won't be multiplied.
