Face the Demon

You brave yourself and decide to go for the demon. You take the left turn cautiously, knife in hand, creeping step by step, until the figure comes into full view and causes you to freeze.

It's the beast from before- the one in the potion room. But how did it get loose? Before you can think, it writhes towards you on its tentacles, leaving a bright blue trail.

You take a step back, gripping your knife, as a tentacle shoots out and wraps around your wrist. Before you can react, you and the creature both emit a poof, making you lose balance.

Your eyes adjust as you stumble, and you realize that you've both been teleported- back to the potion room. The witch from earlier is bound, now, in the chains she had set up for the demon. Leaking the blue ooze from all ends, she sneers and spits in your general direction, refusing to meet your gaze.

You turn your attention back to the demon, ready to attack, but it remains calm and looks at you. It wiggles its body slowly as you look at it, and you realize that this isn't an attack- this thing is thankful for what you've done.

As you come to the realization, it extends a tentacle to the chained witch, whose eyes glow blue and face loses all signs of emotion. In a motone voice, she begins to speak.

"You free me from those who would dishonor our deal and bind me. You leave me a host to take as my own, and leave me unharmed. Whatever be your desire, human, I will see to it myself." You realize that the demon is speaking through the witch, and smile.

This is just what you needed.

"Demon!" You speak. "I seek the head of the Witchmother. I seek to make good on my bounty and make my guild proud." You puff your chest as you speak, and the beast seems to ponder this.

"To defeat the Witchmother, you..." the witch suddenly jerks about, thrashing madly in her chains, groaning. She shakes her head, before again going limp. "...her weakness, it-" Again, as it speaks, the witch fights back madly, laughing in insanity as she loses herself.

Her laugh slows down, and one last time, the demon takes control. "She is a resistant host." Her own mouth utters. "Take in my blood yourself, and I can convene through your mind."

You stand erect as the demon moves a tentacle in front of your face. It really expects you to do this? The long, slick thing waves slowly back and forth before your lips. At least it isn't being forceful.

You have to open your mouth nearly as far as you can pry your jaw, but you manage to fit the tip in. Your eyes closed, you internally groan, cursing yourself for somehow never managing to acquire a bounty without embarrassing yourself like this.

You open your eyes and look around awkwardly, unsure of what to do with the mass of meat in your mouth, but you decide to slowly suck- and sure enough, you feel the liquid come out, a lot of it- and then you hear your own voice speak to you.

"The Witchmother bears an Amulet. Our deal is not bound to her, it is bound to the holder of the Amulet." You hear, as your mind takes this in. You begin to gag as you struggle to swallow or move your tongue with your mouth so wide open, and you give a little smack to the side of the tentacle to communicate this.

"All you need is the Amulet, and we Demons are in your control. We will overpower these witches effortlessly." As your voice stops, the tentacle is pulled back. You drop to your hands and knees and cough up as much as you can, slowly comforting your jaw with your hand as you panic to draw in breath through your throat, which is finally empty again. Getting back to your feet, you are once again filled with confidence.

You'll just have to leave that out of the official report. It's time to get that amulet.
