In for a penny, in for a pound Erica thought to herself. She decided to continue insisting that she wasn't wearing any underwear. "No, really!" Alicia continued to look at her as if she was being stupid. How could she sell this? "It's so comfortable not wearing panties to sleep..." she found herself saying.

Erica did not have confidence that Alicia would believe her. She was not speaking fluidly and she was beginning to sweat. It was probably painfully obvious that she was lying and Alicia was still looking at her strangely. Maybe it would be better for her to go hide in her room? End this strange interaction and go visit Alicia's boss Mary to sign the necessary forms without having to go jump over Alicia's hurdles.

Before Erica could act on any of her contingency plans, Alicia seemed to have made a decision. She lowered her clipboard and said...
