Epilogue (For Now)

(Author's note, I'll be upfront and honest and say that I'm slightly burnt out on this story and have been since after Jill and Sarah's wedding, thus the very rushing seeming chapters. So unless I get inspiration for more, this will serve as a far off end for Jill and Sarah, to give you the readers, and me, some closure at least. If I don't write more of this story, I'm sorry. Thank you for all the positive reactions overall)

"Jill, honey. Wake up." Sarah shook her wife of just about half a decade up and took a sip of her hot chocolate. "Casey and Gideon are already sitting by the tree, we just need you."

Years ago, Sarah couldn't imagine a more perfect life. Her college sweetheart wife, their two adopted children, and a home of their very own in the neighborhood of Sarah's family.

Sarah made a second mug of hot chocolate for her love as Casey, four and her brother Gideon, three, rushed to give their awakened mother hugs. "Woah kiddos, try not to bowl your poor momma over." She laughed as she returned a big bear hug to them.

"Speaking of 'momma' yours texted and said she just got out of the airport and she's on her way, honey. And after we open gifts, we can head over to mom and dad's." Sarah told Jill, checking her phone.

"You hear that? Grandma's gonna be here then we'll go see Grandma Leslie and Grandpa Martin!" Jill said in an excited voice met with cheers from Casey and Gideon.

Sarah sipped her hot cocoa and couldn't help but smile as the kids excitedly opened their gifts. Every year, every day was an amazing gift that she shared with her family. And it all started with Sarah and Jill spending Christmas break together.
