Which apartment does she enter?
Enter apartment 307
After thinking for a few minutes about which apartment might be the best to search, she decided on 307. The old man who lived there used to be a decorated veteran from the army and he’d be the best bet for someone with a surplus of weapons and supplies. She approached the door as quietly as she could manage and then leaned against it to listen. Her chest rose and fell as she breathed slowly but she couldn’t hear anything from inside. Either the old man had fled, had passed away, or... she decided not to think about the final option. She fiddled with the lock for a bit with her rudimentary lock picking setup. Just as Renée was about to give up and move to another apartment, she heard the tumbler click. With a proud grin, she twisted the handle and slowly opened the door, a piece of wood clutched in her hand.
The apartment was relatively dark, so she let her eyes adjust for a few moments before she scanned the living room. Everything seemed to be in place, more or less. She noticed a few things had been taken in a hurry, the old man had left she figured. She stepped in and moved towards the kitchen, tip toeing so she wouldn’t make a sound. Peering into the kitchen resulted in disappointment; the fridge was wide open and almost completely empty. Nothing remained that she could eat. She opened cupboard after cupboard but found nothing a he could eat or use. She sighed in resignation before remembering there was still bedrooms and a bathroom to search.
Renée decided to stay optimistic as she snuck down the hall, keeping an ear out for noises. The bathroom door was open and a quick search through the medicine cabinet resulted in some luck for her. There was several bottles and packages of various medicines and the like that she could use. She shoved them into her backpack quickly and quietly making sure not to let the pills rattle, before slinging the backpack and stepping back out into the hall. The bedroom door was slightly ajar, so she padded close and peered inside as she slowly pushed it open. As she looked in she realized the window was broken and she began to panic. After spotting a branch that had crashed through from a tree outside the fire escape she breathed a sigh of relief and stepped into the room.
Renées breath caught in her throat as her eyes fell upon a group of at least 10 of the futas huddled in the corner breathing softly. They must have sought shelter in there during the storm that had hit the night before, and they appeared to be sleeping or at least resting. Her heart was racing and she moved to exit without alerting them. As she stepped near the door a floorboard creaked under her foot and she froze in terror.
Does the group of futas wake up?
