Chapter 2 by GenericEditor168 GenericEditor168

Do what? (Note that this will determine what type of dragon you are.)

Electrocute him (Male, Non-anthro, Stormdrak)

You take another, more detailed, look at the knight. His helmet is forged in the shape of a falcon's beak, and he has a two-handed sword slung over his back. He wears a Charm of the Fire's Heart around his neck, over a plain grey tabard, meaning that were you to breathe fire it would not harm him.

Unfortunately for him, you're not a fire breather...

You take a deep breath, feeling the lightning arc through your lungs, and exhale. The air before your snout crackles with ozone, and a brilliant bolt of electricity arcs from your jaws, through the knight's armour, and down into the ground. He spasms, and collapses to the ground in a pile of molten metal and cooked flesh.

You sigh. This is, what, the third knight this week? Establishing your home in a disused castle seemed like such a good idea at the time. Unfortunately, it would seem the tides of politics have shifted, and this old castle has become a place of import, though whether it's because of an increased need for noble holdings or for military defence you can't say.

You look at yourself in the waters of the lake. You have shield-shaped grey scales in neat, overlapping rows along your form, with lines of bright, almost white, blue running between them, like a storm cloud where the lightning crackles inside, waiting to jump to the ground. A pair of wings fan out from just above your shoulders, and they blot out the fading sun behind you.

Your claws are like swords, your teeth are like spears, your eyes are a deep amber, and your tail swishes behind you, outside of the reflection, sweeping around the broken wood that once formed the castle's outermost guard post.

And yet, despite this intimidating appearance, and the strength beneath it, you know that if the knights continue to come, you will die.

Sighing a deep, rumbling sigh, you make your choice - you will leave the castle behind, along with its paltry hoard, and make a new home for yourself elsewhere, where you can live in peace.

You take to the air, each beat of your wings carrying you higher until you're looking down at the world from above, your former home no more than a small grey square in your sight.

Now then, where to go? The mountains in the north? The massive plains? The scattered islands off the coast? Somewhere along the great Lysaneer River?

Where to go, indeed...
