Chapter 14

Easter Best - Preparation & Explaining
"Lauren sweetie, wakeup. Time to get up..." Sarah said, shaking Lauren slightly, and then just a bit harsher as the girl didn't move. Eventually, both women tired of shaking the drowsy girl, and Joan ripped the thick blanket wrapped around Lauren off, throwing it to the side. Lauren shrieked, grabbing one of her pillow from to cover her otherwise completely naked body.
"What do you want!?!?! Joan, what are you doing here?" Lauren said, crawling as far away as possible the two. This was a nightmare. It had to be. Rubbing her eyes, Lauren's hands rushed back the pillow; no, it wasn't.
"Laurie, we, well, today is..." Sarah said, trying her best to build a case for Lauren. Her sister stepped in.
"You have to go to an Easter Egg Hunt as Mandy. She has mono and can barely get out of bed, let alone go into a big crowd." Joan said, smiling. She followed it up with sweetness. "We'd really appreciate it Laurie. I..."
"No. No. No. No." Lauren repeated over and over again, making sure the pillow was secure so she could cover her ears from the women. She wasn't going to become Mandy again. Ever.
Sarah sat on one side of the bed, Joan on the other, and both slowly pulled down Lauren's arms from her ears, encountering no resistance. They pleaded. They coaxed. After a bit of time, they even guilt tripped Lauren by the mention of everything her aunt had done. Lauren sat there, breathing heavily and slowly being brought along by their idea.
"Okay, I'll...I'll do it. For Mandy." Lauren said, having had a realization at the pageant how little she knew nor cared for cousin. It hit the soft side of her hard. "But. No comments on my body. Ever. And I'm wearing underwear this time."
"Laurie, we tried to give you underwear, but remember, your bottom ate th..." Sarah said, covering her mother after the daggers Lauren shot her. "Sorry, I wasn't thinking."
Joan slowly pulled the pillow from Lauren's loose grasps, making her fully naked in front of the two. Bashful, Lauren reached for the pillow back, but only received a guiding hand from her mother, who stood her up. In front of her was her full body mirror, next to it, her spandex and breast forms. So close, yet so....far.
"Okay, undies first!" Joan said, laying out Lauren's outfit on her bed. With both Joan and Sarah helping, Lauren had her white girlish panties on in a few seconds. Covered in a repeating theme of bunnies and carrots, Lauren pulled them out of her ass crack, getting a slight slap from Aunt Judy.
"Those were the biggest pair I could find, sorry Laurie. Let's get your tights on next." Joan said, pulling up itchy cotton stockings, covered in cutesy Easter eggs and bows. They only compounded the itchiness from the cotton panties, making it so Lauren kept getting her hands slightly slapped by both her real and faux mom.
"Arms up!" Joan said, not waiting long for Lauren as she pulled down a dress. Blind for a long time, Lauren's only sensations were hearing her mother and Joan speak about how tight the dress was, and the sound of the two yanking it over and over again. Eventually, with one perfect yank, it slid over her body, and Lauren felt indignant.
"We said no comments on my body, and you two agreed! That means you say....nothing!" Lauren protested, stamping her foot a bit. They sheepishly apologized, and turned Lauren toward her mirror, allowing her to see herself briefly in the mirror. A pair of hands covered the slight glimpse she got, and her Aunt's voice chuckled.
"Wait! Shoes first, before she gets to see the transformation." Her aunt said, slipping a very tight pair of shoes onto Lauren's feet, and buckling them. Ready and dreading to see how she looked, Lauren eagerly awaited when her blindness would go away.
Before any of that transpired, the door opened, and a new voice spoke - Vanessa. "Mom? Aunt Joan?"
Lauren could cry. Vanessa was here. In her room. Witnessing her without any accessory, merely as Mandy. One thought stuck in her mind: 'You're Mandy. You have to be Mandy.' She knew Vanessa, her sometimes nice but usually distant sister, would never let her live it down.
"Nessa, I thought you'd be gone all morning?" Lauren's mom said, putting herself between 'Mandy' and Vanessa, hoping to hide Lauren from her sister.
"No. Who's the little girl?" Vanessa asked, following it up with. "Where's Lauren?"
"You don't recognize your own cousin? It's Mandy! My goodness, we need to have a family routine. Now, we're busy getting dressed, so if you please leave..." Sarah said, trying her best to shoo Vanessa out of the room.
"That's not Mandy." Vanessa replied deadpan and unmoving.
"Of course it is! We're heading to Easter breakfast, I just needed your mother's makeup assistance." Joan replied, making it so Lauren was directly in Vanessa's view.
Lauren stared at the ground, only hearing voices. She was more focused on not having a panic attack.
"Aunt Judy and Mom, I know that isn't Mandy. I just was over at your house to see how she was doing. Remember, you knew I'd be there? I guess you forgot, but your neighbors, the Finston's, were happy to let me in. She was dead to the world." Vanessa said, seizing the initiative. "So, I'll ask again, who is that? And where's Lauren? Why are you in her room?"
Both Joan and Sarah were lost for words, and allowed Vanessa to step forward and tilt 'Mandy's head up. Lauren looked her sister directly into her eyes, and a slight befuddled look played itself out, then a smile of recognition, and finally, shock. Vanessa's voice displayed that very shock.
"Lauren!?!"
The proceeding few minutes were hectic. Lauren broke out into a fit of tears, and very quickly, booted everyone out of room, ensuring the door was locked. Unable to cope with the fact she had been exposed tp her sister, Lauren was reduced to merely leaning against her wall, softly crying.
Sarah and Joan, meanwhile, explained (semi-)truthfully the whole situation to Vanessa, hoping they might solicit her aid with Lauren. Vanessa's mouth was agape, confused whether she start with the fact that Lauren's whole body was fake, or that Lauren could be mistaken for an 11 year old. However, a sob from her sister pierced her ears, and Vanessa had a recall of memory from years ago.
She'd just gotten done changing after gym class, and was getting ready for her last period of the day. One of the many bullies for the awkwardly aging Vanessa began to harass her over the pimples on her face, cackling as Vanessa choked up, the discussion soon moving onto Vanessa's braces. Before any of it continued, Lauren the upper classmen confronted the girl, ending the bout of bullying with a few words. She'd never discussed her actions with Vanessa, nor wanted thanks, but Vanessa still remembered. It was the principle that Lauren had....done something. Vanessa came back to her house, forgetting the memory from possible a decade prior.
"This whole situation is fucked. Beyond belief. Fucked. I can't believe you two don't get why she is freaking out." Vanessa said, getting a slight condemnation for swearing by her mother. "Mom, come on. You just tried to lie to my face."
After conversing with the two women for the better part of half a hour, Vanessa felt more fully in grasp of the situation, and she felt much better. Her mother and Aunt seemed to be understanding why Lauren might freak over such a course of events. Now came talking to Lauren. Vanessa hoped her two years of psychology classes might helped. She knocked at the door, getting a soft "Go away" from Lauren.
"It's me, Vanessa. I just want to talk." No response came. Vanessa sat on the other side, shooing away her mother and aunt as they approached the door. "Please, Lauren."
The door opened a crack, and Vanessa moved into Lauren's room, shutting and locking the door behind her. They had a lot to discuss.
Moving from discussing the pageant to Lauren faking her body, Vanessa calmed Lauren down, making the tear ducts cease production and even played a smile across Lauren's face. Their discussion lasted longer then 30 minutes, and the sun had moved from its position on the horizon to well overhead. With Lauren sufficiently relaxed, Vanessa felt herself go up onto a soapbox, feeling much more like the elder sibling as she spoke.
"Lauren. If you don't want to do this, you don't have to. I spoke to the two of them, and they realize how badly they messed up. I mean, imagine if you asked mom to dress up like a 90 year of grandma just because you wanted to feel special." It got a smile and light laugh from Lauren. "It's your choice. Not theirs's or mine. You."
Lauren thought over her words, and the discussion she'd just had with Vanessa. So too did she think of her moments where her Aunt had helped her out of a tough spot.
"I'll do it. But, um, Ness, could you stay. They, sometimes make fun of my body. And I just....hate it." Lauren said, feeling confidence swell in her.
"Of course. Let's do this Lauren." Vanessa replied, opened the door for her sister.
