Dundrasil, end of Chapter 7

With a groan, you open your eyes, your head pounding. As you sit up, you see a canopy of trees around you. The sound of rain pounds all around, though the trees seem to be keeping the water hitting you at a minimum. You're not sure what time it is, but the rainclouds make it dark...

Aching all over, you pull yourself into a standing position, realizing you're not wearing the hoodie and jeans you were when you booted up Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition on Steam after work. Rather, your clothes have been replaced with a plain white cotton tunic with a blue sash to tie the waist, some baggy blue trousers, a pair of brown leather boots, and some matching brown gloves. There's a brown satchel tied on the sash and checking inside you find a small brown bag filled with some gold coins (a bite implies they're real), a clump of green leaves that seem oddly fragrant, and a round vial of water. Weird, these items look a lot like the ones from Dragon... Quest?

Large and red with gold trim. That's a brightly-colored treasure chest right out of Dragon Quest sitting just in front of the brown cliff face. Is this real? Is someone pranking you? Is this a hidden camera show? Should you open it or show some caution in case it's dangerous?
