Keep waiting.

After a long wait, you finally hear movement behind the change room door. There is muffled chit chat that becomes more audible when the door swings open. The girls giggle and playfully slap each other’s asses. They are surprised to see you waiting outside, almost as if they forgot you were still there, but they play it off with more laughter.

“Took you long enough,” you grumble.

Lynn gives you a consoling pat on the shoulder and says, “Sorry about that, we got a little… distracted…” She giggles. The other two try to hold back their mirth with snickers. None of them care to elaborate and Lynn is already headed to the car.

You all load up into Lynn’s ride and drive back to the ice cream shop to drop off Carly and Abigail. All through the trip, you notice the girls stealing conspiratorial glances at each other and knowing smiles. You can’t help but feel like you missed out on something in that change room.

The drive is silent.

“So… what took you girls so long?” you ask, trying to break the awkwardness you are feeling.

The girls simply steal more glances at each other and giggle to themselves. You notice Carly’s hand resting comfortably on Abi’s lap. There is a glint in each of their eyes as they reminisce over their shared experience.

“Oh come on!” you complain.

“Sorry, Riley, you kind of had to be there…” Carly tells you. You wonder if you should have been more bold.

Lynn stops by the shop and the other girls get off. You bid them a good evening. Lynn gets a couple of light kisses from the two girls and a promise to meet up again sometime. You get stares as if you are not invited. Then, Lynn drives on to drop you off at home. You drive in silence for a time, then Lynn breaks it with her usual snideness. “So… still didn’t get your strip show, huh?”

You roll your eyes, “I’ll see her again…”

“Yeah, I don’t want to wait another day or week or however long you ‘plan’ to take this ‘long game’…” Lynn says, “Besides, you’re even further behind than you started, after tonight!”

“What do you mean by that?” you ask.

“Doesn’t matter! You’ll have your shot again after we reset and start over!” Lynn says with a hint of excitement.

Before you can protest, you can see the entire night’s events roll by in reverse.
