Peter had just entered the classroom with Mia, and Ms. Ross came over to them.

"Hi, there cutie pie," Ms. Ross said, looking at Mia.

"I'm so glad that Peter convinced you to come and join us," Ms. Ross said.

"Great idea, get out your art pads and sit across from each other," Ms. Ross said.

"Nonsense," Ms. Ross objected. "We will get you one. Peter, why don't you go ask Eve if you can borrow one of hers."

"Okay," Peter said as he walked out of the room.

"Peter to the rescue," Ms. Ross said happily. "The two of us will stay behind and engage in some girl talk to pass the time. Okay, Cutie Pie."

"Sure," Mia said, blushing slightly at the thought of talking to her teacher like a friend.

Soon Peter walked out the door.

"So, what should we talk about?" Mia asked.

"Well, you do remind me of an old friend of mine named Starchild. Yes, you look just like her," Ms. Ross said.

"Really!" Mia said, surprised.

"Oh yes, cutie pie. We followed our favorite band all across the country. We had a lot of adventures together," Ms. Ross said.

"Sounds fun," Mia said, impressed and a little jealous. She couldn't help but compare the older woman's adventures to her dull life of school and church.

"Well, now let's get drawing," Ms. Ross said. "Now both of you sit across from each other. Because today you are drawing portraits of each other using pencil and paper.

"And Mia is going to draw you too," Ms. Ross said.

"I'll try," Mia said.

"Now, let's get started," Ms. Ross said.

The two students sat down and started to draw each other.

"I always like drawing, however having a live model is really different," Peter thought to himself. "I'll have to try hard to capture Mia beauty. I'm glad that she is my partner."

After a while, both of them finished, and Ms. Ross went over to see how well they did.

"My what a wonderful drawing Peter," Ms. Ross said, complementing Ash. "I think we have a real shot at winning that art contest. "Why don't you show Mia."

Peter then held up his very realistic drawing of Mia's face making Mia gasp at how well it was.

"It's so beautiful. Peter see's me like that, why is my heart beating so fast," Mia thought to herself. "It looks good," Mia managed to say.

"Yes, it nearly looks as good as the real thing," Ms. Ross said, looking at Mia. "Don't you think so Peter."

"Yeah, almost as good as the real thing," Peter said sheepishly, leaving Mia speechless.

"Now, you don't you show us how well you did?" Ms. Ross said, looking at Mia.

"I'd rather not," Mia said, think about how badly she drew Peter.

"Oh, don't play so hard to get. There is no such thing as bad art," Ms. Ross said reassuringly.

"Ok," Mai said as she showed them her drawing of Peter. It looked like a stick figure with hair that a grade-schooler could draw. "I know its not very good."

"Oh no, it's very interesting. There is room for improvement," Ms. Ross said, trying to cheer Mia up.

"I like it," Peter said.

"You do?" Mia asked, surprised.

"It's adorable just like you," Peter said.

"See Peter likes it," Ms Ross said. "Well, that's enough for one day. Now go home and get some rest and try those meditations I've taught you."

With that, both Mia and Peter went home.
