Backing down to the indomitable Ms. Kyle you know isn't and option. Yet to play poker against this emerald eyed vixen is simply suicidal. You have to change the game but that comes with even greater risks. Hoping your guess that Kyle is compulsively competitive you go for broke.

Pushing the cards away causes your date to straighten up.

“Chickening out, Dr. Anderson?” She mocks.

“No.” You shake your head, “A card shark picking a fight with amateur is hardly fair, in fact it comes close to cheating.” You taunt.

“You're naivete is adorable.” The gorgeous Gothmate smiles. “But it's hardly thrilling.”

“Then how about this.” You make your play. “I'll increase the wager, if you win I will give you a full access after hours tour of the Athenaeum.”

“And if you win?” Kyle's curiosity is clearly peeked.

“Nothing, my compensation for cheating on the last game.” You offer.

“What's the catch?” Kyle asks.

“Do you play chess?”

“A bit,” Your date answers with a perfect poker face, “but I prefer cards, much more stimulating.”

Walking over to a closet you take out your prized jade Ming warrior chess set and place it on the table in front of Ms. Kyle. As you put the pieces on the board you bait the hook, “How did you put it at the cafe, 'The game is only fun when the stakes are high.' So instead of a day, why don't we make it a full weekend?”

Looking up at your date you try to give the most challenging look you can muster. “I've got a beach house that could use some decoration.”

“White pawn to E-4.” Is Kyle's answer.
