Dinner date.

They put their clothes on in a hurry. Giggling like children as they made haste back to the office with 2 minutes to spare. At the door to the office Jess checked her appearance brushing down her blouse and skirt. Frank gave her a quick kiss, a slap on the behind and they headed back to work.

The rest of the day was comparatively uneventful. Calls were made; forms were filled out. Frank began thinking about this evening, what he would do for the rest of the day.

“Wanna come back to my place for dinner?” Jess asked him while heading towards the car. She had given him a lift in to work and offered a ride home as well.

“Why don’t we go out?” Frank returned.

“You mean like a date?” She winked, jokingly.

“Yes.” He said, an air of confidence in his voice.

“Oh. Well alright then.” Jess replied, smirking.

They decided on a restaurant, a casual but nice Italian place close to Jess’ house. Because they had been preoccupied during lunch, neither of them had eaten; and as a result they were both starving so they opted for an early meal.

They had a lovely dinner date, chatting like old friends over delicious bowls of pasta. When it came time to pay the bill, Frank insisted on paying, but Jess would not allow him.

“Not with your sales record, Williamson.” Jess jokingly mocked him, “We’ll split it.”

The rest of the evening was pleasant, Frank hadn’t realized how close they were until tonight, making conversation was as easy as breathing. It was by far the best first date he had ever been on.

Jess had driven them to the restaurant straight from work, and when she was dropping Frank off at his house, he asked her “Do you want to come in for coffee?”

Jess laughed at him, “I don’t fuck after the first date Frank. Maybe before, but not after.”

He laughed back. Watching as she pulled away he realized how happy she made him feel, she could make all his problems go away just by being in the room. Frank wasn’t sure, but he thought he might be in love.
