Bent over the desk in the cellars of House Beavertail, you hand-copy the section of the House rules about having sex in the dorms. It's not particularly dreary for a cellar, and some daylight shines in from high windows, but this is the tenth copy you've made.

Whereas LIBIDO is essential to the practice of MAGIC, yet is highly CONTAGIOUS in its effects, particularly in COITAL connexion, I shall cast a WARD before engaging in SEXUAL connexion with another SCHOLAR when within the DORMITORY, unless otherwise directed by the TUTOR, HOUSEMISTRESS, or WARDEN.

And on and on, and so forth. Wards aren't infallible, of course, but they help from splashing climactic energy across the closely packed student dormitories and distracting others from their work.

Eventually the Tutor's aide floats down the stairs to check on you, pausing over your writing desk. The golden mote intones some magic words. Your sheets waft into the air and the tiny glowing creature reads over them.

"Very well, Poesy," the mote says in its faint, high voice. "You are discharged. Have a care."

The pages riffle together again, and the Tutor's aide takes charge of them.
