Dealing with bandits
Seeing this situation taking place, you decided to take action. Your clan owes its status to Zhang clan, and you will prove the current head of the clan, Zhang Ju, that you are worth it.
You make sure that the three bandits you see, are the only ones you will have to deal with. A quick look around confirms it. Nodding to yourself, you move to the bandits and unsheath your sword.
You bring your sword up and swing it at the neck of the unsuspecting bandit. The sound of his body hitting the ground, brings the attention of the other two bandits.
They hesitate, seeing their dead comrade – you use this moment and charge at them
{[Gao Xi] (WAR=10 + D10) vs [male bandit] (WAR=5 + D10 – 2 [suppriesed]) & [female bandit] (WAR=5 + D10 – 2[suppriesed]) -> 20 vs 9 & 6}
You tsk after the first exchange. They are complete amateurs! No combat experience, no cooperation between them when they were fighting... then again, you are doing phenomenally today.
You strike the man forcing him into defence, then fluidly attack the young woman. Your sword easily passes her flimsy defence and cuts her artery. You don't even slow your advance as she falls on the ground clutching her neck. The man swings wildly his sword trying to hit you, but you easily pass below his swing, at the same time, cutting his side. In a fluid motion, when you are behind him, you spun around and at the same time, you slash his back. The bandit falls on the ground, dead.
{Survived first fight! Congratulations!}

“Owner.” You call the man as you sheet your sword. The merchant comes to you wearily looking at the dead bodies. You put one of your palms on your other hand in front, in salute. “I dispatched the bandits. You are safe now.”
The owner sights in relief seeing that he is safe. Then he turns to you and puts his hands together answering your salute.
“Thank you, Miss! How can I pay you back!?”
[A1] “It's nothing! In this turbulent times, Gao clan strives to keep order.”
[A2] “I'm gathering supplies to fight bandits and rebels. Might I ask you to support Emperor's cause?”
[A3] “I could use a little information. As a merchant, you must meet with a lot of different people and hear a lot of things. Have you heard anything unusual, or met any unusual people?” {moonblack's suggestion}
