Chapter 15 by Nemo of Utopia Nemo of Utopia

Now, Last Thing Before The Real Adventure Starts: To Deal With The "Slice of Life"...

Dealing With The "Slice of Life": (Ask Not What You Can Do For Your Savings: Ask What You Can Do WITH Your Savings!)

Having chosen who James and Jessy are stranded on the island with, including their Pokemon, you now have to choose what things came with them on/as-part-of the "Slice of Life". You have whatever savings the pair have managed to gain in the story so far. With this you purchase one of several pre designed sets of hulls and equipment. (There were plans to allow you to build and stock the ship one item at a time but I realized that was way out of my league: If someone who is much better at working with branching and variables wants to help put that option back in: message me!)

Every component is rated with three factors:
SAV: (Savings)
The amount of Poke-Coins it costs to buy it. If you don't have enough, you will need to either get more, or switch to buying on credit...
SP: (Space)
The hull of the Slice of Life can only contain/support so much equipment and facilities: this limit is represented by its space value. The hull is the first component you have to select, this imposes the limit for space you have to work with from there on out.
PWR: (Power.)
Every component you install on the Slice of Life, with a few important exceptions, draws more and more power from the generator. You can't install components which you can't provide power for. Your ship's generator is the second component you choose, and I advise erring on the side of more power, because putting in secondary generators later is much more expensive unit for unit than getting a big one right at the start.

Some components have other ratings, a few of which follow:
CC: (Cargo Capacity)
This is how many pounds of cargo this component can carry. All Hulls start out with a few cargo lockers for carrying the guest's things and food for the galley.
Berths:
This is the number of people who can live in the ship overnight comfortably. Every Hull comes with a minimum of two berths. (Just enough for Jessy and James...)
Poke-Stor: (Pokemon Storage)
This is the number of Pokemon which can be safely stored on the ship. Storing more than this means the Pokemon are not being treated properly, and they can get sick and/or rebellious. Every Hull comes with a minimum of Twenty Poke-Stor. (Enough for Jessie and James starting group plus a few more...)
G-Cap: (Galley Capacity)
This is the number of people for whom a competent cook can prepare three square meals per day on the ship. Every hull comes with a minimum of minimum of two, (and typically ten,) G-Cap.

Pre-Designed Ships

The "Bare Bones Basic" Class: if you are low on Poke- Coin, this is your ship, it is cramped, poorly Equipped, doesn't have much space for a group of castaways, and can't hold too many Pokemon or much supplies, BUT, it's cheap, and, if just Jessy and James made it to the Island, it'll serve...
Stats:
SAV: 10,000
SP: 10/80
PWR: 10/50
CC: 0/100
Births: X/2
G-Cap: X/2
Poke-Stor: X/20
Specials: None.

The "Common Core" Class: a step up from the 'Bare Bones Basic', this ship is still pretty bargain basement. For those of you who want to carry a good amount of gear, have a fair number of castaways, and catch lots of Pokemon on a budget, this is the ship for you. (This is also the ship which will be assumed to have been taken by those skipping ahead from the start page, so more story options will be available to people selecting this boat early on...)
Stats:
SAV: 28,400
SP: 73/80
PWR: 45/50
CC: 0/500
Births: X/10
G-Cap: X/10
Poke-Stor: X/50
Specials: None

At the Moment that's all, there were other classes planed, but they didn't get finished in time and now I've forgotten how to price them correctly. ^_^"

Now: In a similar vein we have the three packages of food and supplies. Depending on how much money and space you've got you can buy between 1 and five of them. Each Combination of ship and supplies will have to be filed as it's own entry for now, but I hope to get some help making an item by item purchase system later...
