Dawn of a new day

In the morning, the two of you gather your clothes and head back to the camp. You find most everyone still asleep, standards have relaxed slightly from the celebration. In your section, you’re amused but not surprised to find Sadie, Samara, and Reika cuddled up together. What is a little surprising is seeing Uzume cuddling with Clarissa!

Kali giggles. “Clarissa looks like a doll in Uzume’s arms!”

You chuckle. “Oh shush, it’s cute. And I see your sister got in on the action with Sadie and Reika.”

Kali grins. “Sammy and Sadie have become pretty close. You’re not upset they got together with Reika before you did?”

You shake your head. “Not at all. We’re all family here. And Sadie could convince anyone to have sex with her.”

You hear Clarissa grumbling. “You two are too loud. Just because you snuck off early doesn’t mean you get to decide wake up time…”

You and Kali laugh, and leave the sleepyheads in peace. You make your way through camp, chatting with various soldiers. Eventually, you run into general Ochiba. He’s looking slightly bedraggled, but happy. “Good morning, your highness! You look well rested.”

You chuckle. “Better than yourself at least, general.”

He grins. “What can I say, it was a good night. Genna is still asleep, if that tells you anything.”

Kali laughs. “Quite a lot, actually!”

You nod. “It’s good to see you well, Ochiba. Everyone seems to be recovering today.”

He smiles, shrugging. “I’d say everyone has earned it. We’ll probably start packing up tomorrow, and head home for now. After everything that happened, I’m not worried about the triumvirate attacking soon. Though I suppose the name isn’t accurate anymore.”

You chuckle. “No, but I know what you meant. I’ll trust your judgment on military things. We can all go home for now.”

He nods. “I know everyone will be happy about that. Any plans for when we get there?”

You shake your head. “I’m sure I’ll give a victory speech, but otherwise, it’s time to take a breath and live life for a while.”

Kali smiles. “Some normalcy would be nice.”

Ochiba chuckles. “We’ll see how long that lasts. But I agree.”

You shake hands, and part ways. You and Kali head back to your part of the camp, and relax.
