Chapter 25

What's next?
Damage control
One week later…
“So, from what you’re telling me, after you casted some mumbo jumbo magic spell to interrogate Mystique in the VAULT to read her mind, your little hocus pokus backfired, and Mystique took control of your bodies and the four of you went on a man-eating rampage across the state until a plane literally had to fall out of the sky to crash on her head to snap you all out of it?!”
”Uhm… Pretty much, yeah…” Shrugged the Scarlet Witch, taking a small sip from her pitcher of water while she, Jen and Carol sat crouched in front of a table while Nick Fury paced back and forth in front of them. Having no room inside the helicarrier to have their meeting, the four sat on the landing strip on the carrier itself while floating out front of the Hudson river. “If there’s any consolation, we’re feeling MUCH better now!”
They were not.
A whole week had passed by after they had managed to get the call in to SHIELD to arrive and do damage control over the Xavier institute and haul Mystique away with the aid of four helicopters loaded with whale harnesses. Since then, the three and their children had not returned to normal size, despite their personalities returning. Crouched down as low as they could with their 60-foot height, the three kaiju women occasionally scratched at their horns, or their thighs, or tugged at their custom-tailored clothing offered by Janet Van Dyne to fit their burgeoning curves, muscles, and bulk. Jen shifted on the flight deck on her knees, looking down to make sure her purple top was not slipping off too much or that her skirt had not burst open from her sitting. Carol’s breathes were shallow, carefully nibbling on a small plate of sliced carrots served on a table in front of the three and following it with her own pitcher of water. Under the same worry that her own clothes may pop a seam or two if she were to exacerbate the situation any further.
All three had for better or worse fallen into a full-blown crash diet to get their weight down. And so far… It had worked, but not as noticeably as they would have wished. They had already lost about 500 pounds each, something many would find envious, but to the three 25 tonne zilla women, it was barely noticeable. Someone had brought up the idea of using magic to slim themselves down and return to normal, but after the last few days, Wanda decided there was enough magic to blame on the circumstances already.
“Well fortunately for you three, Professor Xavier vouched for your story and you’ve been cleared of all charges. As for Mystique, we have moved her to the Raft for better safe keeping, she tried eating a guard as soon as she was chained up.”
Grimacing at the news, Carol finally spoke up about what the three were thinking about. “Yeah… About that, how are our kids?”
Turning to look up at the blue scaly lizard woman as she looked genuinely concerned, combed her blonde hair behind her pointed ear and horn in a worried gesture. Director Fury pulled out a remote from his coat and two SHIELD agents set up a projection screen on the flight deck for the three to see their many children being cared for in what could best be described as a minimum-security facility… or a ranch, where the lot of zillas wandered around and explored the space they were in. Some were sitting together playing cards the size of small billboards in their clawed hands while another group sat in front of a drive through theater watching Saturday morning cartoons.
“Are they healthy?”
“They aren’t causing any trouble, are they?”
“I may be a giant green Godzilla, but I’m still a lawyer! Don’t tell me they are being mistreated or so help me…”
“Your kids are fine and doing well, we’ve even tried to curb their diet to get them to slim down like you are trying to… To various levels of success.”
Not moving a muscle, Fury pressed another button showing one of their kids being fed a cow on location. Looking down at the comparatively small animal in his clawed hand, Carol’s son squinted at the cow and looked down at the two guards who were offering the bovine up. “What do you take me for, an animal? You don’t have any 57 sauce or some damn salad to go with this?!”
Trading looks, the three mother zillas shrugged and looked back at the projection of their son with his arms crossed while a team of agents tried to truck in heads of lettuce to go with the cow.
“Well, at least we raised them to have standards…”
Turning away from the projector, Fury turned his attention back to the three with his arms behind his back. “from what the caretakers tell me, they’re intelligent and thankfully NOTHING like Mystique, at least not anymore, though they do take after their parents, to varying degrees…” Pressing another button, the projection showed a trio of red scaled zillas wearing heavy black make-up and black dye in their hair scowled back at the camera looking back at them.
“I was never a goth…”
Turning off the projector, Fury paced back over to the table to look up at the three zillas. “Well ladies, that SHOULD address the entire situation, except for maybe a few things.”
“Oh?”
“We’ve gotten some word of a few missing personnel over the last few days; YOU wouldn’t happen to know anything about that would you?”
Together the three traded looks, muttering to themselves and shrugging their shoulders in argument before looking back down to the SHIELD director. Jen made to say something when she hiccupped, and a pair of boots fell out of her mouth. Wide-eyed with embarrassment, the green scaled zilla quickly plucked the offending boots off the table and tried to look away innocently. “Uhm… those were stuck in my teeth for days!”
“Riiiiiight….” Still eyeing the She-Hulk with his good eye and seeing her sweat, he then turned his attention to Wanda. “In regard to all your magic tomfoolery, you didn’t happen to cast anything else while Mystique was working away in your head, did you?”
Sitting up, the Scarlet Witch scratched at her scaly chin with a look of deep thought, her eyebrow rising slowly as she tried to remember those days when she was not behind the wheel. Eventually shrugging with her hands up in defeat.
“Well, here’s hoping nothing happened then.”

Meanwhile, on the RAFT…
“YOU SHALL RELEASE ME AT ONCE! I AM AN ALPHA PREDATOR! THE TOP OF THE FOOD CHAIN! I WILL DEVOUR YOU ALL!!!”
“Damn girl, you’ve REALLY let yourself go!” Laughed director Maria Hill, sharing a laugh with Abigail Brand as the two watched Mystique struggle and fight against her bonds. Not wanting to make the same mistakes made at the VAULT, the massive blue kaiju was prevented from having any free range and already placed on a diet to get her weight down. For seven days she had fought her restraints and spat threats at the two women watching from their vantage window of the kaiju’s cell.
“Hey its not all bad here, you can at least order some desserts to go with your keto diet… It’s all low in fat though.” Chuckled the green haired woman, the two directors smirking back at Mystique who glowered from her cell, baring her sharp teeth and growling like an angry crocodile with horns.
“Oooh, is the big fat blue alligator upset that we’re feeding her tofu? Well, let us know what you think, we’re ALWAYS open to criticism.” Maria smirked, leaning forward with her hand cupping her left ear to listen in on what Raven had to say.
What she got was a bellowing roar so loud it reverberated across the walls and ceiling. The tremor of it all shook the two women to their bones as the sound pressure built until it finally stopped. Blinking in surprise and taking a step back, Maria felt woozy, until she looked back at the round, scaly face of Mystique leering back at her with a smug grin.
“You know what?” Scoffed Abigail. “Screw this noise, she’s locked up and no threat to anyone.”
“Agreed, I’ve heard better complaints from Cletus Cassidy down the hall… At least he suggested pudding for desserts.”
Getting into the elevator, the two women stood and waited impatiently to reach the top floor so they could leave, the mood ruined now that there was nothing left to do after overseeing Mystique’s incarceration. At some point during the elevator ride, both women looked down to rub at their stomach when they noticed a VERY audible growl. Finally exiting the elevator to the flight deck outside, the two women boarded their helicopter to travel to the city, their stomachs growling more demandingly by the time they were met with fresh air.
“You know… Speaking of dessert, want to join me for a bite? There’s a bistro that opened up in the city.”
“Yeah, sure. I was not too hungry before, but now? Feels like I could eat a horse.”
“Heh, yeah, a whole stable of horses.”
The End?
