Being sentient it's not a great thing when you can't move.
Being made from a part of an Old One helps to deal with boredom... but you still get bored.
You either lay forgotten on the wilderness or heroes are tearing you apart as soon as they realize you are cursed.
Needless to say, you are quite miffed with them for destroying you over and over. It's not your fault your... Source? ... Progenitor? ...liked to toy with mortals and drive them mad.
But heroes and heroines were jerks.
Right now, you lay in the middle of a forest, forgotten. But **** burned in your mind.
This world has forsaken you. You'll teach it to be more considerate.
A week later, the sound of a fight grows louder...

You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
