D-Day

The rest of the week passed in a blur of preparations for you, but alas you are ready. Looking at your desk, you study your master piece, a 30 day supply of placebo’s for Mariah’s birth control pills. That brings up the question you’ve been asking yourself is, can you use them. Putting the fake prescription in your backpack you head downstairs.

Heading downstairs, you see your mom at the sink, making a salad. “Okay mom I’m out of here. I'll see you Sunday evening.” You hug her.

“Remember John, to be careful on that boat of yours.” Your Mom, reminds you with a smile.

“Okay Mom, I’ll be careful.” You say over your shoulder, heading out the door.

Hoping on your bike, you cover the three miles to the marina, in what seems to be in record time to you. After arriving you walk your bike to your slip and look at your boat. Sweet Dreams she was called, and as far as you were concerned it was the perfect name. Sure, you got her for a steal at the police auction and she still needed a little more work but she was yours. Heading aboard you unlocked the boat and stowed your gear in the cabin, looking at the clock you saw that Mariah should be here in a half hour or so.

Deciding to get some work done while you wait, you pick up your trusty paint scrapper to finish getting the last of the old paint off your babies hull. Despite it being early still, you could tell the day was going to get hot, and removed your shirt and got to work. Getting into the familiar motions your removes the old paint to suddenly get interrupted.

“Earth to John” You hear. Breaking loose of your daydream, you see Mariah standing there She was clad in some tight white shorts, and a peach colored tank top with her overnight bag, and a small white bag emblazoned with the name of your pharmacy.

“Sorry Mariah didn’t see you standing there, I kind of wanted to get the rest of this old paint off. Please come aboard, you can stow your stuff up front.”

Mariah hops aboard looking around with a curios expression, and heads back leaving her stuff in the cabin.

“Nice boat John, is it your dad’s.” Mariah asks, coming out of the cabin.

“Nope, this baby belongs to me.” You, answer proudly.

“Your shitting me, right.” Mariah says.

“Nope Mariah I’m not shitting you If you want I can show you the ownership papers.” You say.

“But, how can you afford this?” She asks.

“Well, you see when I was born, a trust fund was set up by my grandparents to pay or my college education. But, when I accepted a full ride from USC that money became mine when I hit eighteen, four months ago. So I came up my dream, of Boating for a year then going to college, and because I was able to get my boat for a fraction of what it cost, thanks to the DEA, I won’t have to work either.”

“I’m impressed John, you’ve really thought out what your going to do after finals.” Mariah says, with admiration in her voice.

“Thanks.” You say.

“So, what do we do first.” Mariah asks.

“First were going to finish scraping the last of the old paint off the hull, then were going to see where you are academically.” You tell her.

“When do we eat? I have some medication that I should take with food.” She tells you.

“We’ll eat before we study, don’t worry. I have to use the Bathroom your start over there and I’ll be back in a minute.” You tell the girl.

Mariah nods and you head into the cabin, checking to see if she was paying attention to you. Quickly you find the pharmacy bag, extracting her pills you see they look the same as the placebos you manufactured.
Taking out a Xacto knife, you cut the tape holding the tag to the bottle, and secure it to your placebos.

You begin to put the bottle back into the bag, when your hit conscience hits you.
