Chapter 5 by IgnusObscuro IgnusObscuro

What move do you start with?

Current Battle mechanics (Scrapped)

For the sake of simplicity, the opposing pokemon is always assumed to be the same level and the same basic stats as yours. The exception to this is legendaries. They will deal twice the damage and take half the damage. Normal effectiveness attacks will deal a base 25% damage. Not very effective attacks will deal 15% damage. Super effective attacks will deal 45% damage. All critical attacks, determined by me, will double the damage. Attacks like growl/tail whip will effect their respective stats by 5%. For example, after using tail whip, when attacking with a normal effectiveness move, you will deal 30% damage instead of 25%.

Occasionally, an attack will have an unexpected effect. This is to somewhat mimic the anime, like how pikachu's thunderbolt aimed at rhydon's steel horn did some damage in the first season. This will make some moves like tail whip and growl actually have some use from time to time.

Now that we've got attacks covered, lets move on to items. Potions will heal 35% of your Pokemon's health. Super potions will heal 55%, Hyper potions 75% and max potions and full restores will heal all health. Full heals and other status restoring items restore their inflicted status.

Any type of pokeball will have a 10% higher catching range with a status effect on the other pokemon. 5% in the case of confusion.

Pokeballs will always catch weaker pokemon when under 25% health, average pokemon when under 10% health, needs a status effect to catch strong pokemon, and will not catch legendary pokemon.

Great balls will always catch weaker pokemon under 40% health, average pokemon when under 25% health, strong pokemon when under 10% health, and can catch legendaries with a status effect.

Ultra balls will always catch weaker pokemon when under 90% health, average pokemon when under 40% health, stronger pokemon when under 25% health, and legendary pokemon when under 10%.

The Master Ball is still in development. This story will, unfortunately, not include it.

You will not have to worry about buying items. They will progressively be added as you go through the story.

HP. Many pokemon have more than 100% HP. Weaker pokemon have 75%, average have 100%, and stronger have 125% with 25% HP being granted on evolution. Pokemon without any evolution have +25% HP. Pokemon with a typically high defense such as Geodude or a typically high HP like Snorlax will have additional HP to show that. Legendaries have 300 HP while Mewtwo specifically has 600 HP.

HP will recover automatically after battle.

Mega evolution is still a mystery and has unknown effects.

This is where I need comments most guys. I need your input.

Go back to the thread you were at.
