Perhaps it would be best to recruit from the remaining Crystal gems?

This would perhaps be the safest path as most of the crystal gems have a strong moral code that you could to appeal to if you explain you the main goal of your mission.

Though that raises the question of who of the crystal gems should you pick from?

With that thought in mind, you immediately pull up three crystal gems and begin to weigh the possibility of recruiting them to join you in your mission…

1. Lapis Lazuli: Lapis is an interesting case as she suffers from severe emotional trauma from being isolated in what essentially amounted to prison for a period of over 5000 thousand years and also suffered in a mental battle against a homeworld gem named Jasper who slowly beat her down to take control of their fusion form.

Recruiting Lapis in her current state may be difficult as she has suffered a great deal of emotional and psychological trauma from her past and as a result, it may be difficult to convince her to join. Though she wasn’t always as badly scarred, as Lapis only truly suffered after she was freed and flew off back to homeworld to get away from the crystal gems. Only homeworld had completely changed from what she remembered from due to the infighting of the diamonds, what's worse is that after her arrival it appears that she was captured and tortured for a period of time to give up what she knew.

This leads to a new possible conundrum as the mothership can exist outside of space and time in order to travel across the multiverse. As a result, it may be possible to recruit Lapis while she is still trapped in her mirror prison and offer not only to free her, but also heal her with the advanced technology on board the ship. If you do recruit Lapis to your cause, then you would have an extremely powerful Water Bender on your side as Lapis is powerful enough to drain the very ocean of its waters to create a literal stairway to heaven and can create extremely powerful water clones and constructs to use in a fight.

2. Peridot: Peridot is a recent and somewhat unwilling member of the crystal gems as she was originally a member of the diamond authority, but eventually went native and joined the crystal gems after coming to the realization of the importance of life in all its forms. Of course, Peri has her own problems as she is rather vain and has a rather large ego on her. This is also not counting the fact that unlike the other crystal gems Peridot doesn’t have her own weapon and has rarely been in actual combat.

Though that’s not to say peridot isn’t a valuable choice as she is extremely intelligent and was originally a scientist for the Authority before her defection. There's also the fact that Peridot also has latent Magnetic ability and can control and twist metal to a small degree. This ability could be amplified with the right tech that your certain that the mothership could easily produce.

So by recruiting Peridot, you not only gain a lead scientist but also possibly a powerful mistress of magnetism that could easily turn the tide in a fight.

3. Pearl: Pearl is one of the original crystal gems and was Pink diamond's closest confidant and advisor. Pearl was originally one of the many carbon copy servants that were produced in the diamond authority and worshiped her diamond to an almost religious-like degree. Pearl is also one of the few people in the entire world to know the truth behind the rebellion but was given one final order by pink to never tell anyone the truth. To which Pearl was **** to follow to the letter due to her innate nature as a pearl of the homeworld gems.

Oh, boy where to start on this one? You like the thought of recruiting Pearl, but doing so comes with severe problems as Pearl may just flat out reject your offer before you say anything. However, Pearl has severe self-esteem issues that stem from her very nature as a pearl, also without Pink to guide her and to lead her Pearl seems to be lost in the world and without direction. Your offer may give Pearl a direction and a purpose again, a thought that seems to fit well with Pearl's overall mindset.

However, that’s not to say that Pearl won't have her own objections to the thought of joining you and your cause against Planet fusion as Pearl still retains a degree of loyalty to Pink that extends out towards steven. So much so that pearl has effectively become stevens mom and cares a great deal for the silly boy. You may have to offer Pearl time off or a way to keep in contact with Steven and the other gems. A thought soon comes to mind as you think this, you could offer Pearl a way to protect Steven from the diamonds by offering to defend earth from any possible invasions from the diamond authority!

That could definitely work and would make Pearl more open to the idea of traveling with you. If you succeed, then Pearl would be an excellent commander, and she would probably serve you like she did Pink to a degree. Also, Pearl would be an excellent combat teacher as seen from the fact that Pearl has had experience teaching others how to fight and defend themselves.

4. Peridot and Lapis: This is a weird option, but Lapis and Peridot are the B team of the crystal gems and live in a barn that Steven's father gave them. It may be possible to convince the two of them to join your cause if you offer them a safe haven on board your ship as both are being hunted by the diamond authority and are in hiding. So, it might be easy to convince them if you showed them what they had to gain by joining you. Or at least you hope so…
