I decided I should just cross the bridge. Who knows, it may lead me back to Darkness's castle. As I started a towards the bridge, I noticed a sign built into the first pillar. It said "To cross, one must pay their way in gold." Under was what appeared to be some kind of scale. Pay your way in gold. I wonder what that means. Maybe I have to pay some kind of toll. Well, I didn't have anything of value and it didn't look like there was anyone to stop me. I figured I could just go.

I made it about halfway across the bridge before the craziest thing happened. The bridge suddenly started to shake. This caused me to lose my balance and fall on my butt. When I landed, the bride started to come apart and shift. The piece I was on started to rise. I tried to get up to roll off but pieces of the bridge came up and pinned me! The piece I was on continued to rise until I was looking at the face of a rock monster that had formed out of the bridge!!! It was then that I realized he had me in hand, holding me between his fingers like a grape.

He looked at me with some very angry eyes. "Going somewhere?"
