As soon as your mother leaves, your phone rings. You pick it up. "Hello?" you say.

"Parker?" That's definitely Emily's voice.

"Emily!" you say. "Where are you?"

"Your mother called me and told me I should come to see you after school. She didn't say why; she was very mysterious about it. Anyway, I'm in the driveway now," she replies. "And wow! This is some house!"

"That's great!" you say. "Hold on and I'll be right out to meet you." You hang up the phone.

You go out to the driveway and Emily is standing next to her car. She is startled when she sees you, immediately noticing how different you look.

"Parker!" Emily exclaims. "What happened to you!?"

"I'll explain when we get inside," you reply. She nods and continues to stare at you, making you feel self-conscious and uncomfortable. She walks up to you and gives you a hug. "I swear you're shorter than you were," she remarks. You let the comment pass without reply.

The two of you walk into the house and you lead her to your bedroom. You sit on the bed and she makes herself comfortable in your chair. "All right, Parker," she says. "Tell me what this is all about."
