Consider Todd's "Sale's Pitch"

“I…I don’t know Mister Todd,” you stutter, shocked at his outrageous proposition and even more shocked that you are considering it. “I…I mean when you say sex…you don’t mean real sex? Like in pornography, right? Just some nudity?”

You see that the man’s smile never flickers. Neither diminishing at your hesitation, nor growing wider at your naivety.

“I’m not talking big screen stuff at first,” he answers in a soothing voice. “That will come later. What I am talking about is small-scale video. Mainly for internet usage.”

You feel the color draining from your face. It is even sleazier than what you had feared. He is suggesting that you become one of those countless nymphets on the porn sites horny teenage boys and dirty old men are always downloading from. You shudder when you consider what else they might be doing with them once they are downloaded.

“Look, honey,” he walks over to you, draping an arm casually around your shoulders. “This isn’t like the old days when thousands of tapes had to be made and sold just for the distributors to break even. He waves his other hand in the air, as if indicating space or the ether or just ‘someplace’, “That no one remembers a specific face or name. The days of Linda Lovelace and Traci Lords are over.”

“But what I am offering you,” he pulls you closer to him and strokes your bare arm with his free hand, “Is a chance to gain real experience in front of a camera. Not some bullshit college course where the students make one film a year. You’ll learn about lighting. Screen presence. The realities of working under a deadline. By the time you are ready to break into main stream movies, you’ll have your craft nailed!”

“Come on, babe,” he once more squeezes your shoulders with his arm. “It will be easy and the pay is not bad.”
