Confidently "Woman"

Jessica looked him squarely in the eyes, she had no time for this man's accusations, she had been through something awful, had her revenge, and still needed to get home to her aunt.
"I'm a woman you knave." she spoke curtly, and continued to walk. She could feel the man regard her from behind, but she felt a rush of strength from her resolve. And... nothing, she let go the breath she didn't know she holding when she rounded the corner. Looking up, she felt the moon's gaze. Doubt fled her mind. She had strength, she had resolve. She was nearly home, and she could put all this behind her. She had only another block to go before...
And it was as if the air turned to ice. Padding down the street, about to pass where she hid, was an awkward lupine thing with dark blue fur. Jessica stifled a gasp in her throat. Its description fit what the church called a scourge beast. The end result of allowing your bad blood to ruminate in your veins without purification. The embodiment of primal degradation. The church did not speak of the beast's endowed knob that bobbed between its legs, but perhaps that was for the best.
Jessica's mind ran with options.
