Shall we delve a little deeper?
Clan el-Sahata
Derived from a phrasing from the Sultanate that roughly translates to "The House of Those Who Have Seen". The magical arts is held in very high regard in the desert, as such many noble lineages are derived from those that are naturally gifted in the arts of magic. While any can be magician of some kind with the proper knowledge and time to practice and research, there are those that are naturally gifted, like how some are prodigies to music. Therefore, it is common for many families to try and cater themselves to be powerful magic users and breed themselves to be such.
Some time ago, two prominent magical families formed a union and created a child that gained the magical prowess from both of the families. To say they were a prodigy at magic was an understatement. Even in childhood, their proclivity to magic was keen...it was even told that on their birth, the instruments that the mid-wives used to help with the birth began to move about on their own in sporadic fashion, like that of an untrained mind. Further has been said that this child was even an Aberration, a being of the Arcane realm, as it seemed they didn't even need a hieroglyph to perform magic, so it is unknown if this was true Arcane magic or the typical soul magic of the Sultanate but without a hieroglyph.
Due to all of this and more, the child was doted upon and spoiled rotten to the core. They were given the finest of things, especially in terms of its education and training in the magical arts. It was denied nothing...not even when it delved into the darker arts in its later years. The families did not fight against this, they were encouraging of the prodigy's brilliant and curious mind.
Eventually, the prodigy would be a child no more, and would become the heir to the inheritance of both families as the favored child. They even had successful marriages to many families handpicked to continue the lineage to cultivate the magical prowess of the new family line. This was cause for a big celebration where both families attended to celebrate the coming of adulthood for whom they believe would become the most powerful magic user in all of the kingdom.
But little did they know...dark things were happening in the private research room of the prodigy...
The ever curious mind of the prodigy resulted in them dabbling in crossing various magics. In this case, it was Blood Magic, Necromantic Magic, Planar Magic, and the soul magic of the Shi'qae. Sometimes, no matter how careful you are, certain experiments are just doomed for failure, and a singularity unlike anything the prodigy could predict could happen.
Not many of the families and new family line had survived the singularity. But those who did, the prodigy included, were forever changed by it. In truth, they don't seem to mind the **** change too much. So much so, they had forsaken their original family names to take on the name of the new family lineage given to the prodigy and use it for their clan...el-Sahata.
An el-Sahata for the most part seem like a regular person, but with a more ghostly appearance. Their skin is incredibly pale and their hair either darkened or incredibly light as well. Their eyes also seem to glow with an ethereal ****, almost as if their very souls are trying to escape their form.
Compared to other Vampires, there are no greater magicians than those of the el-Sahata. To call their magic Necromancy is almost a bit of an insult as their power and capabilities in the field of magic is above and beyond what is capable for most. It is almost a class of sorcery on its own. One of the hardest things for a Necromancer to try and control are the souls of the dead, having an easier time just shoving them into bodies to fuel them and control. But the el-Sahata are masters in the art of controlling souls. They are the only ones capable of making use of Soul Servants, powerful spirits of a Necromancer's own power, bound to a specific place that will do whatever task the creator wishes of them.
The el-Sahata have a very strange means continuing their lines. While others are born from their parents or turned into a lesser version of their progenitor, the el-Sahata do not operate like this. In essence, the el-Sahata line operate like a recessive gene within their descendants or chosen members. They also operate more covertly, with their descendants being given up for adoption. A potential el-Sahata Vampire are living with the genes of the el-Sahata within them, but lies dormant. At any point within their life, these genes can get agitated and start mutating them into their true Vampire form without them ever knowing. It is unknown what may activate this gene, and there may even be a chance that the potential Vampire could die of mortal reasons before the gene even activates. But once it does, every el-Sahata that is nearby can sense the awakening and will move in quickly to induct the new Vampire into their ways, operating very much like a witch's or warlock's coven. Though, their obligation is only to ensure the Vampire knows enough to look after themselves. For the most part, el-Sahata Vampries are loners as they prefer to stick to themselves and learn their foul sorceries on their own merits.
Their method of feeding is also very strange. They still rely on the feasting of life essence like other Vampires, but they do so in a different way. Other Vampires acquire life essence via the drinking of blood from the living. The el-Sahata, meanwhile, devours the very soul of a being. It is said, that having your soul feasted upon by an el-Sahata is to experience true ****, with no afterlife...utter oblivion.
In general, the el-Sahatas have no interest in those who work against magic practices, or those with no interest in magic, or even those who refuse magic of any kind. But amongst the progenitor clans, they detest the Fenrissons the most. Well, detest is a strong word...in actuality, they view the Fenrissons to be no better than the beasts they enjoy being so much. No magical interests at all and prone to losing their human sensibilities to their bestial forms, truly they are a waste of the beauty that is the magical power of Vampirism. Some el-Sahatas may also be offended at the Fenrissons' love of transformation, consented or not, as there are those within the ghostly Vampire's membership that detest the **** transformation that they had no part of deciding on.
