Shall we delve a little deeper?
Clan La Trurras
The La Trurras are what you can call the be the most "basic" or "normal" of the Vampire clans. They don't stand out too much and can easily slip their way inside of human society and operate within it. It is because of this, the La Trurras consider themselves to be the apex of their kind, the true master piece, the absolute image of perfection. Naturally, this doesn't make them well liked by their brethren, but their numbers, power, and influence in human civilization give them an edge over the others.
The La Trurras clan are predominantly found in the Saetra Island Chains, though one can find ancient traces of them in the the northern and central parts of the Everlight Forest. They are one of the more ancient forms of Vampire, which could attribute to their more perfected form.
They average out in terms of increased strength, speed, and endurance compared to other humans, and also benefit to a sizable initial power to necromancy and blood magic. However, they differ from other Vampires thanks to their perfected human form which gives them an unnaturally irresistible charisma, which aids them in infiltrating the nobility of most human civilizations. And thanks to their origin coming from the early age of pirates sailing the waters, early pirate superstitious folk helped shape the La Trurras clan to be more suited for water life. Well, really only just salt water, but this would result in mass amounts of vampiric pirates still roaming the seas to this day.
Though with that, there was a divide in the clan that still remains unhealed to this day. It started with two brothers who would have inherited the throne of Supreme Elder, but discrepancies prevented one of the two brothers from acquiring it. And given their vastly different lifestyles, one preferring the tradition of freedom and power natural to a pirate's life, and the other wallowing in the decadency and politics of in-land nobility, the two brothers could never agree on who should take the throne. They eventually settled on a co-ownership of the clan and went about their separate ways.
However, the noble brother was assassinated by one of his own spawn, who then scapegoated the other side of the family in order to illegitimately take the throne for themselves. The pirate brother is still alive to this day and plots to avenge his dead brother and his honor while he prowls the seas. But thanks to this event, the clan is divided in half and has no signs of healing.
Clan La Trurras is one of the least found out about clans thanks to their charisma, integration in human society, and political mindset. They have proxies to their proxies, and it is hard to find their fingers that are dipped in so many pies and controversies in play throughout the day-to-day life in the Empire. And many a sailor will have tales of undead pirates, but nobody gives these tales any mind as nothing more than simply just tales.
Vampires of the La Trurras are also incredibly selective when it comes to mating and attaining Thralls. They understand the need of pure blood to retain their power, thus they do not allow their children to breed with anyone but other pureblooded Vampires of worthy stock. This puts them in direct odds against Clan von Hoff who them deem to be mutated and unclean to mate with.
The La Trurras clan do add quite a bit of a unique lineup to the necrotic field in terms of creatures that are specifically for them. Noble La Trurras members have the ability to do their own take on **** Knights, like Necromancers, but are called Sanguine Knights, which shares in the Vampire's natural powers in blood magic. On the flip side, the pirate side of the La Trurras clan have managed to figure out how to use necrotic magic on the sea life surrounding Aesyr and even use these creatures mostly for their ships.
This clan holds a jealousy to the el-Sahata Clan, coveting their innate magical prowess. The La Trurras want strength in all ways while retaining their human visage. The sheer, raw magical talent and prowess of the el-Sahata is an incredible sight of a strength that the La Trurras can't have, which makes them vehemently despise the soul-Vampires through this jealousy.
End of lecture.
