Chapter 15 by Unholysocks
Who has found you?
Chief's guard. Time to meet the chief.
You are standing in front of a disturbing throne, decorated by skulls and bones emitting an aura of dread. The appearance of the scowling chief sitting on the throne certainly doesn't help. He's huge (for a goblin - a bit over 5 feet tall) but is overly muscular and fat, so he's wider across than tall. His hair is in a top-knot, pierced by runed bones and another pierces his nose. His eyes are beady and sunken in his flesh which is painted with crude red streaks. His torso is mostly bare, apart from tribal tattoos, and everything that can be pierced is, usually multiple times. Skulls and heads of various creatures adorn his belt. You gulp when you see one is a goblin's head, features locked in a scream. The chief holds an ornate but primitive massive axe in one hand. The title *Chief Chewa - level 18 boss* hovers over his head and the two, unnamed guards are level 12. Why did you think you could best this beast of a goblin just because of a couple of levels? Why did you think YOU were worthy of being chief?
"Why you fuckin' me best bitch, yew pathetic runt?!" he roared, pointing his axe at you.
"Er, because she wanted it?"
"Liar! Why would any bitch want yew?!" Did he have to yell EVERYTHING?
You decide to tell the truth. The chief could use your skills to fight the heroes as you slowly work your way into power, and maybe one day his position as chief. "Well, I've been levelling, and I've got new skills, which I put at your disposal." You bow in respect.
"Skills?! Show me, runt!"
Oh oh. You didn't bring any materials to make a potion, and the chief could claim you stole the ones hidden in your belt were you to use them. Looking around the room you see piles of skulls, bones, junk and a chest. You've heard about the chest, lootable after the chief is defeated, giving what you secretly desire. But for now, you focus on the junk and bones. You quickly make a pile of them on front of the throne and use you 'Craft: basic' skill.
The items swirl around, coming together until with a flash of light there's a simple bone and wooden chair. The arms and legs are thigh bones and the main structure is wood with a bone skull decorating the back.
You stand proudly and the chief heaves his way to his feet and stomps over. He carefully picks up the chair and looks it over, inspecting it carefully. You stay still with a smug look on your face as he does so. There's no way he can't see your value to the village now.
You are surprised by a sudden, massive blow. You can do nothing as you fly across the room and crash into a wall, collapsing upside-down into a stunned heap. A pop-up dances across your eyes, stating a warning that you are dangerously low on hitpoints. You blurrily see the laughing chief drop the broken remains of your created chair and saunter back to his throne.
"'Sif we need a chair-maker in my village! Someone kill da runt and cook him fer my dinner before I kill yers all! Get dem boots first, though, them look fancy!"
You look helplessly as you watch two guards walk over to you, spears at the ready. They pull your magic boots off, making you slightly glad you left your goggles with your cart. They are about to thrust their spears into you to finish you off when a loud horn sounds.
"Hah! Heroes! We's got ourselves a fight, lads!" He spun his axe carelessly as he made to leave. As he ducked through the door he turned to you and bellowed, "If I sees you leavin' before I'm done, I'm gonna make you sorry!" With that he and his guards leave you alone. Soon the sound of battle ensues. You quickly drink both of your healing potions. You have no idea what your hitpoints are, perhaps that's something to focus on later.
You have to get out of here, but how?
Your eyes are drawn to the loot chest. Perhaps something in there would help? You dash over it and try the lid. Locked. Of course, the chief has the key, he had to be defeated before it could be opened. Unless...
You pull out an explosive fire vial, shoving it into the lock. You grab a skull and throw it from a distance, breaking the vial and causing an explosion, blowing off the lock and flinging the chest open, knocking you over in the blast but causing no damage.
You dash over and find a glowing orb with various scenes flickering inside. You see a battle scene, a magical healing scene, someone playing an instrument and more. If only you had your goggles then you'd know what this does. You also see a collar and a handful of gold. You heard this chest gives you what you need, but you have no idea what these items do, so they're useless right now. You gather them up anyway.
Ah well, time to escape, you suppose.
How to get past the battle outside alive?

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
