Chapter 5

What do you choose to do?
Check on Parisia
{if GameMode == true}
You start walking towards the shore, following the trail of footsteps embedded in the sand by Parisia. As you take your first couple of steps your head begins to swirl again but you just ignore it.
“Where are you going?” Asks Neela.
“To help Parisia,” you calmly reply.
“You gotta rest bro,” says Roman, shaking his head.
The two of them don't exactly stop you as you stagger across the beach towards the coastline. Instead, the two of them sit down in front of the logs and on the sand, using the logs as something to lean on and they continue their deep chat you saw them having earlier on.
It's only now that your eyes have adjusted to the bright ambient light that you can appreciate the true beauty of the gorgeous island. As you approach Parisia her head snaps around but she relaxes when she sees you.
“Hey,” you say, “It's just me.”
“I told you to rest,” she says, eyes now focused on wringing the still red t-shirt in her hands.
“You don't want the company?” You ask, pouting in a hope that she gives in.
“No no, fine, stay.” She sighs.
You place yourself on the sand next to her, watching as she grips the twisted roll of t-shirt tightly and twists more, causing light red liquid to drip down into the water.
“Here, let me do it.” You say, as you extend you hands forward to reach for it.
She doesn't exactly refuse and you spend the next few minutes in complete silence. As you glance over at Parisia, you notice she's been staring into the sea for a while and it looks like she's zoned out.
“What's up with you?” You ask, in an attempt to lighten the mood.
“Nothing,” she says, her eyes still fixated on the turquoise blue ocean.
“I don't believe you,” you reply, stopping the job at hand and leaning forwards to look in her eye.
She sighs when she notices you do that and finally takes her eyes off the water to look at you. She hesitates before saying something but you can see that she's **** to say anything.
“I don't know.” She says quietly, just as her lips begin to tremble. “I'm scared, Julian.”
She starts to tear up. You've never seen her like this before and it's an unusual experience.
You put an arm around her casually and lower your voice to a whisper. “I know you are. I am too. Anyone would be if they were where we are right now. The most important thing right now is that we stay strong and stay together. We're gonna get through this.”
“But we're on an island in the middle of nowhere with no food, no water and no fucking clue how we got here. How can we stay strong?” She sobs.
“Parisia, you were the one who made sure I was okay as soon as I woke up. The point is you care about me and I'm gonna make sure I look out for you too. No one is getting through this without you here and you're such an important part of us. Don't worry.” You say, gently rubbing her arm to calm her down.
You take your arm away from her and wipe a tear from her face, but instead you just get some sand stuck to her cheek. You then try and wipe that off but you end up just making a mess but she responds by letting out a small laugh.
“Okay?” You ask.
“Okay.” She replies, with a smile on her face and a glimmer of hope in her eyes. She hugs you for a moment before standing up again.
Parisia closes her eyes and takes a deep breath before putting a determined look on her face.
“Lets go.” She says.
You hold both of your hands out reaching for her to which she responds by grabbing them and pulling you up until you're standing too.
You grab the soaked t-shirt which is looking considerably more white than before and start walking back to Neela and Roman.
“This isn't even dry yet I can't put it on my head,” you say.
“Hm,” says Parisia as she thinks, “It's also salty water, maybe we should just wait for Amber to get back before you put it back on.”
The two of you continue to have an idle chat as you make your way back to them, but as you approach you're pretty sure you can see the two figures lying on the sand intertwined in some way. It's hard to make out but you think that they're cuddling.
As soon as they notice you and Parisia walking towards them they hastily untangle themselves from each other and you give Parisia a sideways glance, which she returns.
The two of you sit down around the small fire that's slowly going out.
“We should probably get some more of that wood,” you suggest.
“You asked where Amber was,” starts Parisia, “she and the rest of them have gone looking for wood, water and food.”
The four of you continue to talk, while you think about the rest of the people on the island. You don't even know who they are yet or even if you'll recognise them.
