Chapter 3: Iron Woman 2

In Russia, the national media is televising the news conference in which Obadiah Stane tell the incident in Stark Industries (the fight between Iron Woman and War Machine). During this, a sick Anton Vanko dies in the arms of his son, Ivan Vanko telling him that the only thing he has left to leave him is his knowledge, which turn out to be blueprints for the Arc Reactor. He also tells his son that he has every right to the success that Tony Stark and his family has gained, which motivates Ivan to seek **** on Stark, but how the Starks are died, he now will get **** of the CEO of Stark Industries, Obadiah Stane.

Six months later, the hypnotized Pepper Potts continues to use the Iron Woman suit being the symbol of Stark Industries and increasing its fame. Stane reopens the Stark Expo with Iron Woman as the mascot of the event . As Stane and Pepper leaves the stage, he notices that she is releasing slowly from her trance. Despite he is using his device on her, she are developing a little bit resistance.

After being summoned to attend a Senate Armed Forces Committee hearing on the existence and threat of the Iron Woman armor, and similar suits being developed in retaliation, Senator Stern demands that he hands his armor technology over for military application. Stane, however, refuses as he says that the Iron Woman suit and Stark Industries is the same concept and to give it over would be to turn over himself. He then proves that other attempts by foreign powers to duplicate the Iron Woman suit have failed miserably and also embarrasses corporate rival Justin Hammer, who had testified against him, by showing he had also made a bungled attempted at creating a prototype. Stane then returns home, where J.A.R.V.I.S confirms that Pepper is developing resistance to his hypnotic control; If this continue, Pepper won't enter in trance again.

Stane makes Pepper Potts CEO of Stark Industries and hires Natalie Rushman his new assistant, hypnotizing her. At the Monaco Grand Prix, Stane, look as the drivers that represents Stark Industries is winning the competition. Unbeknownst to anyone else, Vanko, or Whiplash has gained a pass to the Monaco Grand Prix through the means of his associate, plotting an attack on Stark, using his modified harness with electric whips.

Vanko soon appears on the race track and attacks the racing cars. Pepper puts on the portable Mark V suit and, with the aid of Stane, defeats Vanko. Stane discovers that Ivan is the son of disgraced Russian physicist Anton Vanko, who collaborated on the first Arc Reactor with Stark's father Howard Stark. Vanko is later broken out of jail by Justin Hammer who recruits him to help make his own Iron Woman suits and gain **** on Stark Industries by tarnishing its image.

Pepper release herself from her trance and furious attack Stane, using Mark IV armor. Stane call his another recruit Christine Everhart with the Mark II armor to subdue her. She leaves Pepper ****. The next day Stane, is approached by Alexander Pierce of SHIELD and Rushman - who in reality is Natasha Romanoff (she pretend being hypnotized by Stane, but in reality, she always had been under the mind control of SHIELD), who provides him with a box of an old archive of HYDRA, who have desings of a hypnosis program develop by the former scientist of Hydra, Arnim Zola (the same progra used to hypnotize Natasha)

Using Zola's research, Stane discovers a message from him with the instructions to create an effective new hypnotic device. He can finish this device and use it to hypnotize Pepper again, this time in a trance that she can't break.

At the Stark Expo, Justin Hammer unveils his new military drones, captained by Christine Everhart (in a comercial trade with Stark Industries) in a heavily-weaponized version of the Mark II armor. Unfortunately, it is soon discovered that using chips Vanko has complete control of both the drones and Christine's mind, and Pepper arrives just as they go on the attack. Hammer's attempts to regain control of the drones get him placed into NYPD custody. As Pepper battles against these remote-controlled enemies, Natasha Romanoff race to Hammer's Hammer Industries Headquarters to stop Vanko.

By the time they arrive, Vanko has already departed for the Expo in a new, more powerful suit of armor, but Romanoff is able to desactivate the chip of Christine Evehart and making that she are under Stane's control again so that Everhart and Pepper can fight Vanko together. The two armored allies combine their powers and successfully take Vanko down, but Vanko's armor and the Hammer Drones are revealed to have been equipped to self-destruct.

At a debriefing, Alexander Pierce informs Stanethat while Pepper Potts is "unsuitable" for the Thunderbolts Inicative (she need more control of her mind), S.H.I.E.L.D. wants Stane as a consultant. Stane agrees on the condition that Senator Stern present Pepper and Christine with their medals for bravery. Meanwhile, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jasper Sitwell is seen driving to a remote impact crater in the New Mexico desert. Over a phone, he informs Alexander Pierce that they've found "it", which is revealed to be a mysterious hammer.
