Female firebenders are found to be able to create stronger and more controllable fire when they are given a spanking as they can pull strength from the heat in there backsides Thus it's easy to guess the worse the spanking the more powerful they can be

And so a tradition was started where all female firebenders are required to submit to a daily spanking with the severity up to there bending Master or themselves depending on the situation
