Career Paths
Now, as a young aspiring henchman may be asking yourself what type of career awaits me in this very interesting and quite possibly short career field?
many of the henchman guilds have their own answers to that question, but generally there are three different career paths that you can follow after you meet the certain requirements necessary to pursue a career in one of these paths.
Those three major paths have been given many different names over the passage of time. Generally though, they can be sorted into three different "boxes", that all fill the same purpose.
They are as follows for the most part.
The Paths
Military: The muscle or the "hand" of most henchman guilds.
They go by a variety of different names, knights, warriors, soldiers, and even Marines in certain cases. However, they are all pretty much the same in function. That being the people you call when you need security or if you need someone to smack a litttle "sense" in the someone. If you want something that is rather simple and has some adventure to it, or if you just like to play around with things that explode. Then the military career path is for you.
Science: The brains or the "nerds" of most henchman guilds.
They have had a variety of differrent names over the years, mages, doctors, professors, and even scribes. They are in the end of the day pretty much the same in how they function, that being the are the brains you call when you need something investigated or fixed. If you enjoy a far more peaceful and quiet workplace, that also has a tendency to unleeash horrific monsters. Then the science path is for you.
Social: The quiet ones or The eyes and ears of most henchman guilds.
They too have had many names applied to them, spies, rogues, detectives, and even ninjas! All these names describe the same job that those who take up this path follow. That being that all who follow this path deal with information in one way or another. If you want to hide in plain sight, run around searching for clues, or if you see yourself as a assassin. Then the Social path is for you.
These three career paths form a trifecta of power that covers most if not all contracts that could possibly show up.
Though there is a fourth class or path that all henchmen start off in, that being the basic minion class.
Minion/Recruit: The first class that all new Henchmen start off in before choosing a career path to follow.
Recruit's are limited in what missions that they can take off the bat and have to specilize in one path before being able to take up more dangerous and high paying jobs. (In other words its to protect greenhorns from getting themselves killed needlessly.)
Now, you might question or be divided on which path you want to follow. You might feel that you must pick a single path and stick with it and many do. Though, never fear! You can choose to follow any of these paths at any time. You can even choose to specialize in all three and be a jack of trades and perhaps possibly be able to become a number 2.
Number 2: A Henchman that has specialized in all fields avaliable and has mastered them all.
They stand apart from the rest of henchman, as they are the best of the best. The greatest around and the most wanted by employers as they can do anything, fix anything, and build anything. They have had many names over the years, the right hand man, Barons of crime, and Jacks of all. They are the only ones fit to lead the Guilds as they have walked all the paths and mastered all.
It isnt easy to become a Number 2, but those that do are one in a million.
The Career path progression system. (General Terms)
Minion/Recruit
Military -> Level 1: Guard -> Level 2: Mercenary -> Level 3: Black Ops
Science -> Level 1: Technician -> Level 2: Scientist -> Level 3: Quantum physicist
Social -> Level 1: Watcher -> Level 2: Spy -> Level 3: Master agent
Career Path specializations
Now like any other well trained group, there are specializations or classes that a Henchman can choose to specialize in during his time as a memeber of his own Henchman guild. These are specialized and needed jobs that can offer unique and specialized services to better aid our employers.
Now these Specializations are exclusive to certain paths as to better ensure the right people are in the right fields of work. Now that said, Specializations require more than just meeting the S.P.E.C.I.A.L standards. As you will require hands on training and exprience to better ensure you can handle the specialization in question.
That said, if you already have prior exprience or creditials that are applicable to a certain specializaiton. Then you can automatically apply and start conducting jobs for that specialization in question. Even if you are just a new recruit mind you.
The current specializations are as follows.
Military Specializations
Sniper, Enforcer, Combat Medic, Heavy Trooper, Shock trooper, and Chem trooper.
Science Specializations
Medical, Engineer, Bioscience, Arcane, Quantum Science, Chemical Science, and Robotics.
Social Specializations
Diplomat, Assassin, Banker, Lawyer, Detective, Thief, Tailor, and Butler.
With this, you should understand all the possible choices that await you and your fellow henchs in your upcoming career!
