Despite Tom's attention being split between his computer and Erica's tantrum, he was closer to her clothes, and as soon as he realized that Erica was trying to get her clothes back, he made a leap for them, reaching them and getting his hands on them first.

Holding her clothes in his hands, he held them over his head, out of Erica's reach. She pounded her fists on his chest. "Give me my clothes back!" she demanded.

"Hey," he retorted as he weathered the storm of my blows. "A deal's a deal."

"Fuck your deal," she yelled at him. "You're a cheat."

"I'll give you back your stuff if you fulfill the terms of our arrangement," he said.
