Call Alice's little game out

"Really, Alice?" you ask, "is this about the video?"

"I..." she says, looking away from you, "not really, this was just really nice of you, and I thought I'd have a little fun...you're not mad, are you?"

You look at her and say, "no, of course not. It was just unexpected, is all. I'm happy you're being more assertive, just...warn me first next time." You lean forward and go in for the kiss she wanted, but she looks away.

"No, it's fine...let's just eat, okay?" she takes a bite of her salad. Now, you feel bad about calling her out like that.

You look at her and say, "baby, I'm sorry I ruined your moment...please don't be mad, all right?".

"Really, I'm not mad, I just expected..." you wait for her to finish her thought, and she takes a sip of wine instead. You're really not sure what she expected, and you decide rather than push her right now to wait for her to open up. She munches wistfully at her dinner, and you watch her while picking at your food. She occasionally looks at you during dinner, and gives you a hollow smile.

You offer to top up her wine, and she accepts. She finishes her dinner quietly and is halfway through her second glass when she finally speaks. "I guess I expected you to just play along. You're right, I should have said something first...made sure it was something you'd be okay with. That was wrong, and I'm sorry."

You take her hand in yours. "Thank you baby, I'm glad you said something about it. If you want to play around like that some times, I'm okay with it. I'm sorry I cut you off the way I did." That gets a real smile from her, and she leans forward to kiss you. You return the kiss.

Once you're both finished, you pack up the picnic items and throw away the trash, and sit with her talking about her upcoming work week, and your own day. You both decide to walk around the park for a bit until sunset, and watch it together at the picnic table. Afterwards, you both go to your car and drive home.

When you get home, Alice says she's tired and is going straight to bed. You stay up for a bit, and decide to shower before laying down yourself.
