We've arrived
Cabin in the woods
It must be almost 3pm. My legs are like jelly my breathing ragged and rough. My throat dry and corse.
I looked up at Carter the two hour walk seemingly barely bothered him. His breath never harder than when we started walking.
We finally escaped the dense pine forest and began to follow a rough dirt road.
Almost there Victoria.
Carter spoke without turning to face me. He clearly didn't care. Or didn't notice. That I couldn't keep up with him...
The winding road finally opened up into a small clearing.
The clearing was flat and had a few stumps of chopped trees. A wooden dining set was against the front wall.
The cabin was a small wooden building with square windows. The building had a deck on the left with a glass sliding door. The deck looked out over a blue lake with a small fishing pier the lake was full of weeds and grasses. A tanning rack had a deer skin stretched out across it it's horns laid on the floor.
You coming in lassy?
Carter was watching me frozen in his yard. He stood on the porch holding the front door open.
