Chapter 33
by
WhiteFeathers
What shall the woman of cloth spectate the Dark Mage doing?
Buisness as usual, really not sure you wanted her to see.
Options were limited, so checking the options for your new equipment brought on some irritations since it seemed your half mask couldn't be reinforced by metal at all. Attempting leather brought out that it could be done via that, so your Half Mask would be upgraded with the rest of the equipment.
Hands: Basic Magician's Silk Gloves> Light (Iron) Reinforced Basic Magician's Silk Gloves:
+0>10 Hp
+5 MP
+0>1 Def
+1 MDf
Feet: Basic Magic Boots> Light (Iron) Reinforced Basic Magic Boots:
+5>15 Hp
+0>1 Def
+1 Agi
Face: Basic Magic Half Face Mask> Light (Common Leather) Reinforced Magic Half Face Mask:
+0>5 Hp
+0>1 Def
+1 MAt
+1 MDf
Ice damage received reduced by 0>2%
Fire damage received increased by 0>1%
You could upgrade the Mask to a Heavy Reinforced because the leather reinforcement didn't weigh enough to make it change from armor class, but that would cut into your small leather supply into just 1 remaining piece. So you just decided to take it to Medium reinforced.
Face: Basic Light (Common Leather) Reinforced Magic Half Face Mask> Medium (Common Leather) Reinforced Magic Half Face Mask:
+5>8 Hp
+1>2 Def
+1 MAt
+1 MDf
Ice damage received reduced by 2>6%
Fire damage received increased by 1>2%
You were slightly annoyed about the increase of damage taken from fire attacks, but it was still relatively low. As you put your new pieces of armor back on you notice that the priestess is looking you puzzled from besides your bed where the rogue friend of her sleeps.
"Do you have a question, Young Woman of the Cloth?" the voice of yours sounded hazy and soft, you've never really used it since there wasn't any point, the beings above you can sense your every intentions and the monsters around you wouldn't respond even if you did ask them anything.
This questions of yours seem to put the Priestess off as she fidget a bit before asking you, "What are you exactly doing Miss Green eyes?"
"Green eyes?" you responded in puzzlement that was more evident in your voice then your shrouded face.
"Yes, your eyes are green glowing... how do you not know this?" You weren't expecting this and even placed a hand of yours over your face in confusion, but indeed seeing some green light can be seen on your new glove showing that the Priestess wasn't lying. So you set about explaining.
"I don't have any mirrors, so my reflection isn't known to me. There is only so much I can see of myself when looking my body from this angle." You sigh with irritation, "Nor do I own the material to construct the glass needed for such a task."
"So you are using materials to make stuff on this desk?" You noticed that the Priestess looked at the desk with confusion as she reinstated her curiosity over what you were doing.
"This is my workstation. I control all of the development that happens here in my castle, for I am the lord of it. Beyond that I can check how my minions are fare, construct the needed materials for the castle or equipment for me and my minions." You hoped your explanation was easy enough.
"... So you're the lord that we were asked to not engage and instead take on the strong knight who was fighting for you." stated the Priestess in shock, "No wonder we were allowed to do this dungeon so early despite them warning that it was for more higher levels to complete."
"Sadly Annabel has been bested by someone who thought it would be a joy to **** me." you angrily informed the blue haired woman, "So my apologies for not allowing you to be correct level for this endeavor you were put yourself on."
"No please I didn- we didn't know that you went through that!" exclaimed the the priestess, you sigh and look into her Caucasian face and her doe like brown eyes, then down at her white robe that covered her body and hid her small looking breasts while the rest of her body seemed just slim and frail.
"I'm sure you didn't mean to, you just were being yourselves and happened on a bad time, it happens." was your comment as you sat back against the back of your chair and considered your options of what you wanted to do since you had three current objectives in mind; Make functional Gargoyles because they were cool, Make a village to see if that was possible and equip better items to Annabel which you already had a few ideas about the sword while thinking of a dress of some sort she could wear that was also battle functional. Oh and a side thing was gather enough resources so you truly repair the castle and get the special ghosts could come back and also get more monster types introduced within the castle since having just ghosts seemed boring.
The priestess silently sat beside you looking sad, but jolted when you stood up and gathered your magical iron and Two crystals before heading to the altar. The sound of pattering feet followed you. Once at the Altar Room you head to a brazier which held purple flames, where you were suppose to sacrifice things to get something in return, if the sketchy vague description was to be believed.
"Oh great goddesses of **** and Beauty, your names ever clouded in mystery. I pray upon you to grant me even the smallest shard of power so it can aid in forging a true weapons for the paladin that worships both of you to smite those oppressing her, please head my prayer and give me a signal." With head held low, on one knee on the ground, fingers intertwined and praying out loud, you hoped you'd get the wanted result. The flames turned pink and you felt something agreeing with you, much to your joy as you placed the three crystal you brought into the flames.
[The Goddesses have heeded your call and has changed these crystals into minor divine crystals which holds a dust of power of both.]
Taking the crystals in hand you raised up and smiled, "I give thanks to you, Goddesses." You and your confused former foe walked to the forge, where you set aside most of your equipment, besides your gloves and boots, last time it was actually quite harsh on you when wearing your robes so you'll be going with your basic clothes while protecting your hands with your new armor.
Checking through the menus, you finally found a new option that would allow you to construct what you wanted. A simple one called Long Sword Blueprint, which made you check around for two others and then getting them; Arming Sword Blueprint and Kite Shield Blueprint.
Noticing the amount of leather required for each item, you sigh as you set aside the amount before seeing the priestess jump backwards since she was quite near you for one reason or other, "It won't be my problem if you get harmed by the heat or me crafting anything here."
"Sorry." was the quick and quiet response from the blue-head as you shake your head and went and gathered your leather before placing together with the rest of the items and sitting down and starting to forge the first weapon, a Long Sword with 4 Magic Iron, 1 Common Leather and 1 Minor Divine Crystal.
[Selected Recipe requires a Crafting Level of 10. Minor Divine Crystal requires a Crafting level of 25.]
Sadly being stopped before any progress could be made was quite disheartening, as it stood you only had a crafting level of 4. Disregarding the different variants of the crafting, you barely made anything that could be considered crafting, beyond the tools that you made. Still it meant that the equipment that you could construct for your boss wouldn't be as grand as you wanted it to be.
Sighing, you construct a shield atleast from the magic iron and leather that you brought along. The lack of errors make you glad that you were atleast allowed to construct this item.
[You have constructed a new item.
Basic Magic Iron Buckler.
+10 Def
+2 MDf]
As much as you wanted to construct anything bigger, a quick check on all of them seemed to indicate the same thing. Level 8-10 crafting was needed for anything beyond this very basic shield. It was a small thing that you really didn't understand why it was actually so strong that it would already increase your own Defense by atleast 50%.
Using what you had left, you constructed a simple chest piece. To your frustration much like the better shields, this was all you could make at the moment concerning metal armor.
[You have constructed a new item.
Basic Magic Iron Chest-piece.
+30 Def.
+5 MDf.]
"Not much to look at, are they." you simply state, getting the priestess out of her stupor and blushing as she tried to form a sentence and ended just sputtering, "Still I bet you adventures can create quite better items then anything I can make."
"Not really, monsters tend to just drop the better stuff so most of us adventures tend to not touch crafting all that much." the explanation honestly made no sense to you, but you never really understood adventures all that much anyway, "No-one really likes to take the time and sometimes money to locate materials when something that can be dropped could be equally strong or even stronger."
A nod was your only response as the two of you reentered the main room, with the materials that you didn't use in your arms. Returning the items back into the storage, you noticed that your guest seems to be tapping on something invisible to you in-front of her.
After a moment she stops and looks towards you...
New Resource:
Minor Divine Crystals: 2. Crystals that were given small shards of powers from divine powers that is beyond mortal men, and unlike holy items, these cannot be corrupted since they balance the light and darkness and simply hold the divine.
Resource Change:
Iron: 7-4=3. Magical Iron: 12-12= 0 Common Leather: 21-12= 9 Crystals: 9-2=7.
What does the priestess asks?
Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
