Broken

After Artaria woke up, she was made to watch Morgan suffer the last twenty whiplashes. A collar was then attached to Artaria and she was chained back to the mine cart and had a collar fitted round. By now, all her fight was gone. She did not resist as was made to labour away naked. She spent nine days in her broken state before help arrived. While sleeping her cell, she heard the door open. In stepped two dwarves.

"I am Hector, a former knight of your father, and this is my son, Kaid." said the older dwarf.

Hector unchained Artaria.

"She is very weak. We will need to carry her." he said.

The dwarves handed Artaria some clothes.

"Put those on. We have to get out of here." said Hector.

"What about Morgan?" asked Kaid.

"Its not possible to rescue both of them. Artaria is the one that Melinda wants."

Artaria did so. This included a hood to hide her face. Hector and Kaid carried Artaria out the mines, explaining to anyone who asked that she was a guard that got sick. Once they got out the mines, the three quickly got on their horses and rode away. Arriving at their house in the kingdom, they laid Artaria on one of the beds to help her recover from her ordeal. Soon, a white haired elf woman in white robes arrived at the house.

"I see you have the girl." she said.
