Deciding to spend the remainder of her spare block studying in the library, Brenda separated from her friends with another promise to meet them at Starbucks after school. She strode down the path towards a side entrance to the school, seeing a pack of letter jacketed boys sitting and talking ahead.

Brenda rolled her eyes and ignored him and his sniggering buddies, which only seemed to spur him on.

His buddies snorted with laughter and Brenda turned her head to stare coldly at them.

She heard hoots of laughter and more insults shouted after her as she walked away, forcing herself not to hurry as she reached the door and entered the school.
