Break an ancient totem

You turn around to see Tammy hurriedly scooping up pieces of a small stone figure. She looks extremely worried, more than you had ever seen her before.

"What's wrong?" You ask.

"I just knocked over a statue I got for study from the museum!" Tammy says in fear. "It's an ancient relic that's supposed to grant good luck. But I broke it!"

"Meaning what?" Rebecca asks mockingly.

Tammy looks up with immense fear. "I just brought bad luck on all of us! According to legend, we'll be subject to **** humiliation! Possibly in public!"

You all stare at Tammy, not knowing what to say. None of you had ever known her to be superstitious.

"That is the dumbest fuckin' thing I've ever heard," Dana says.

"Yeah, I don't believe in luck," Denise agrees.

"It's the truth!" Tammy pleads. "And I have to fix this statue now!"

Tammy begins packing her things in a frenzy. "I'm sorry, but we need to cancel the club! I'm not stepping outside my house until this thing is fixed! I suggest you all do the same!"

"I can't do that!" Denise says. "I got basketball practice tomorrow!"

"And the big football game is tomorrow too!" Rebecca adds. "The cheer team needs me!"

"I'm all for hooky, but I got some dorks who owe me money," Dana says. "No one cheats me out of a bet."

"Test," Chris says simply. "Can't fail this one."

Tammy just rolls her eyes. "Sam, if you help me tomorrow, it'll go by faster!"

She leaves quickly and the other girls begin to follow. "Don't listen to her," Chris says. "It's all bullshit."

"Yeah, why don't you come to practice tomorrow?" Denise asks. "I could use some moral support."

"Support the football team instead. My girls and me would love to put on a show for you." Rebecca tosses you a smile and a wink.

Dana slaps your back as she passes you. "You know, if you help me with my meeting, I'll cut you in."

The ladies all leave the room, leaving you alone to ponder your next move.
