Bluff in the Buff

James stood at the counter momentarily unsure what to do. This was supposed to be a joke of course, but a joke on him courtesy of Rebecca. The book shop manager was mad at him and he could understand why. There really was no excuse for walking naked into a book store and asking for a sex guide, other than a witch made him do it which would make him look crazy on top of perverted.

On top of this, as he had found before Holly had intervened in his altercation at the supermarket, it was very difficult to hold authority when naked and arguing with a clothed person. You were somehow automatically placed into a position of assumed subservience. Nonetheless, he was going to have to get his book quickly and get out, preferably without using his safety phrase. The only idea he could think of was to bluff it.

"How dare you discriminate against me!" James raised his voice to try and make his argument which resulted in drawing even more unwanted attention on himself. It felt like his only angle though so he had to just suffer that.

"I'm sorry, what do you mean?" the store manager seemed generally surprised to see the naked man answering her back.

"Nudism is a completely valid way of life! First of all you claim my lifestyle is a joke, then you shout out to everyone the details of the book I have privately requested and then you baselessly accuse me of sexual harassment! I could probably sue you.."

"Okay, there is no need for that sir.." the manager began to relent.

James was relieved. He didn't know how much longer he could keep this act up for. His mock outrage had drawn a crowd of intrigued onlookers, many of whom were openly giggling at the no doubt humorous sight of a naked man giving a public dressing down to a smartly dressed, prudish looking authority figure. The manager typed something into the computer.

"We have one copy in stock, it's on the second floor"

James inwardly sighed. A whole new floor of people to be shocked by his nudity and, worse still, he was going to have to walk naked into the Sex and Sexuality section. This day wasn't getting any easier for him.
