The entire wildling **** crashed into the courtyard of Castle Black, charging the small **** of Crows that stood in defense. The Free Folk quickly pushed them back into the castle.

Mance turned away from the battle, looking to the top of the Wall, where flaming arrows still rained down on his forces still outside the Wall. He motioned to a group of Thenns, moving towards the platform that held the winch elevator up the icy face.

On top of the Wall, the Crows were taken down quickly. The Thenns kicked their victims off the archery platforms, laughing as the Crows fell. Soon the top was clear, and Mance's army was free to overrun the defenses.
